Great pics & it looks like a good time was had by all.
That's a nice spread of tools on the table too.

We always seem to have a good time, and nobody goes home hungry! The one photo shows 3 of the 5 Hatchet and Hawk models I make, kind of neat that 3 styles were there.

Guys, yesterday was great! We couldn't have picked a better day if we had, have tried! It's hard to beat a nice fall day, good friends, a good fire, good eats, good beer, and as many nice tools as we had on that table! Then to get to play with all those knives, hatchets and hawks! Those walnuts and that penny didn't have a chance! We did miss Jeff, kyturkey, and TheZenfull1! We really hope you guys can make it next time around! Really anybody else that is even halfway close to the area is more than welcome to come out! We all like to meet new poeple, and add to the group! We have always had a great time at these things! It's kind of like the mountain men going to a rondezvous once or twice a year way back when!

We were giving thought to maybe getting together some place next time at somebodies house where we could all get together and make a batch of homebrewed beer! It's really hard for me to leave the Samuel Adams Specialty brews alone though! First thing we got out there a real friend handed me a supper good SA Porter, which is one of my favorite styles, then I had one of my SA Octoberfest's, and then that friend gave me an SA Chocolate Ale or Stout, I'm not real sure now! After three, I had to quit because I had a pretty good buzz on by that time, and found myself kind of stubling a bit! I knew I still had to drive John back home, and then get myself home safe and sound! I don't even want to think about the chance of a DUI! I'd really even walk before I would do that! Good beers though! Thanks for sharing guys!

As usual, if I can get there, and traverse the tarain, I'll be there as long as I keep recovering the way things are going lately! I was having a pretty hard time at about the halfway point going out and coming back though! I think my back and hip are going to prevent me from doing a lot of things I really like to do in the future! It's always a good time though! Picking up that Craftsman from John kind of made my day too! You all take care, and I'll be looking forward to see all of you for the next "Gathering"!

Later!

Hi Guys -

Yes - a great time always! I enjoy the company of my knife buddies.

I was a little flustered after getting a warning ticket for doing 20 in a 10 zone, and left my camera in the truck.

I did get a couple shots with my cell phone -

This pic pretty much sums it up - a big happy grin, a knife in your hand and beautiful weather. No bleeding either!

Glad Uncle Bill could make it -

Sean was there and did a lot of chopping and firewood gathering -

That penny had it coming - did you see how it looked at me?? It probably also sped into the park like a crazy fool too, so there.

The DBH still has some unfinished business with Uncle Bill's "Ginsu".

Jeff

Hey all of you! Yes, Sean did most of the work and gathering of the wood for the fire, and kept the fire burning for us! I wanted to thank him for that, because that is a job in itself! Also wanted to thank him again for the five or six gallon bucket of the beer bottle caps he brought me! There will be several of those that will be added to my collection!

I think we all missed Jeff being there! The pack is not really all together without him being there too!

Wanted to thank Andy for the beer stuff he brought me too, that stuff was cool, and caused me to call Founders! I worked up a deal with them to send me some unused labels, coasters, and bottle caps, and the shipping will probably be the most expensive thing on the order! Andy, if you get around Rhodell's again, can you do me a favor and ask someone in charge, if you could get a few of those coaster, or whatever they are using now, that have been unused! I'd love to get a few without any stains on them but, don't get me wrong, if you can't, beleive me I am happy to have what you brought me! I wanted to ask you, how was the Devil Dancer Triple I.P.A.? That just sounds great! I have your two receipts for that four-pak, which I will send back to you if you want them, or I will take a black marker to them and then shred them for you! $11.84 sounds like a pretty steep price for a four-pak but, that is about what I had to pay for the Leinenkugel Russian Imperial Stout when I bought that too! And oh by the way, that little phone you have, took some fairly good photos, I'd say about as good as your regular camera!

Who is the person that gave me the little knife with the carabeener clip on the end of it while we were in the parking lot? I'm telling you, my brain is just getting worse and worse at remembering some things! I just wanted to say thanks for that too!

Thanks to everyone that brought beer stuff for me, and the little knife, and thanks again goes out to Sean for bringing the Sam Adams Winter Classics and sharing them with me! They were great, and I went to Sam's Club and bought a case of them last Sunday, while the woman and I were there shopping!

It was a great "Gathering", and I think we should make that our Annual last gathering of the year! At least one day in the fall we will take to the woods at McKinley Woods County Forest Preserve! Thanks also go out to John again, for actually being the great blade maker he is, and being the person that got all of us together to start with!
