November Vacation (Photo Heavy)

Good stuff as always Dubz, I never get tired of looking at your cabin pics. Liking the amount of sharps that got used this time. Always seems like such a relaxing time while you’re there.

My folks still have their old Coleman stove that we used when I was growing up; I think I’m gonna grab it and see if I can fix it up next time we visit them. Those old pump stoves bring back lots of fond memories.

Please don’t stop posting these; it gives all us peons stuck in the city something to ogle over while surrounded by all the concrete and pollution lol.

Thanks brother, appreciate it.

The wife and I were talking about that old stove while there. It brought back a lot of memories for the both of us, when our dads would use them. I remember my dad pumping it, firing it up, the smell, etc. I just bought a funnel for it, and also some mantles for an old gas lantern my father in law gave me. Looking forward to seeing if that old thing still works.

Please keep the cabin posts coming... I love your play by play of your times at the cabin.... It may be same-o-same-o to some but each of your trips IS different.... When I hunt I like to go to the same places to check out the changes and suck in the same air...Smell the smells...I do like to add in new places, mind and if they are worthy I go back.... It is really nice to hang with you in such a relaxed atmosphere...And I really do love your photography... You are damn good at it .... One of these days I want to sit at your fire or you sit at mine!.....Thanks!

This was an awesome thread of your Missouri vacation. I enjoyed the pictures, the knives, and the banter. You can't beat staying in a cabin. Other than the whiskey, you did it much the same as I would and my wife would "tolerate" it. She's no camper. Whiskey is an acquired taste and one I haven't acquired yet. Maybe I should give it another try. Thanks for taking the time to post all that stuff. It takes considerable effort.

Thanks Ethan, I will. It's the best knife using spot I have, haha.
Awesome thread Dubz! Got me jealous!
Tanks brudda.

Thanks man. I'm the same way about beer. I tried to like it early on, as my friends liked it, but I never did acquire a taste for it. Took me awhile to like whiskey myself. I can't exactly say I drink it for taste, haha. :D It does take a little getting used to. I love to sit by the fire with a cigar, and sippin' on a glass of whiskey. Whiskey doesn't take long to get a buzz going either.

This is what you would call a restful November vacation in the Ozarks. I love the Eastern hardwoods. I visited the Smoky's during this time and the rain got my DSLR camera wet and I believe ruined it. Expensive outing, kind of like the pickup. Folks in other countries simply don't understand why Americans like their pickup's.

My Sister gave me a bottle of fairly good whiskey a couple Christmas's ago. She later asked about it and I said I didn't like the taste. She said.... you don't drink it like pop, you sip it!

Your food and drink choices are top notch! Knife choices too. :)
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Thanks man, appreciate it.

Love it when these threads come up! Thanks for posting!
Thanks man.

Thanks man. Whiskey is definitely made for sipping. I recently purchased a bottle of Maker's Mark here in town, and I ran into a woman I know. She said she tried drinking bourbon before, but it always made her choke. I told her, that the trick is, after you swallow whiskey, breathe out for a bit, before breathing back in. Some people take a swig, then breathe in. Breathing the alcohol vapors in right after a drink is normally what makes you cough.

Have we ever done a whiskey thread in Becker Sub?

If not, seems like there is an opportunity there for a new guy trying to get membership in the BeckerHead club.
