Now onto something more serious...

You know me D, if it means giving something to someone that will put it to use, I'm in. :)

EDIT: Terrific idea BTW :)

thanks Dylside, I have 7-8 cable gun locks with keys, is that outdoors related enough?

I suppose that's kind of outdoorsy. I mean guns are outdoorsy. Cable locks are important for gun owners, especially ones with children. I guess that works. Also, the guns could be locked up at a hunt camp. Hunt camps are outdoorsy.

Cool idea man. It will be neat to see how this thing evolves as people add and take. Hopefully people will add some cool things to keep it going for a while.

Count me in, I like the idea of a chain, each of us can take and add, then we can share and lear from each other's individual preferences.

Finally, I'll be able to give someone an Izua pocket sheath of my design.

I second that flat rate idea. If it all fits inside a flat rate box it should be all good. It would just have to be kept to 1 box only. If it dosen't fit don't include it.

I'm in for it, it sounds fun.

The box would really have to be taped up and reinforced to with stand shipping several times. Or you could just replace the box each time, the post office gives them out for free, some time if they are out you need to order them though.

I hope this helps out.

What if, since everyone would have a RP #, someone (like me) could just create a small random number gnereator with the parameters of available numbers in it and that would decide the order. In terms of shipping costs, you could figure out what size box it would fit in and then post how much the flat rate would be, and only people that were interested in paying that price would sign up for the list? Also, it would dictate what people could add since it would still have to fit in the flat rate box.

I think an added bonus for this is that as the box is passed around it would gradually grow a bit emtier, allowing people to add items that would be a bit larger. That way, people that had to wait longer, depending on their spot on the randomly generated list, would also know that some larger items might be showing up on their doorstep when their time comes....

Just my two cents, let me know if you would like me to take a stab at the # generator, be happy to do it...

PS. This is a gracious idea, really great of you.

I'm giving this whole thing a lot more thought. Gotta figure out the best course of action. I'll get it worked out pretty quick though.

Looked thru some stuff got some EDC things could add maybe a fatwood and jute necklace or two. Great idea count me in!

I haven't recieved a RAT Pack number yet, hopefully I'll get one this weekend. Hopefully I will be able to get one in time.

I really like your idea.:thumbup::D

Man, this sounds like a really awesome idea! If you go through with it keep me posted, I got some stuff I could add to the package.... some knives, paracord lanyards, gear, ect.

I really like the add an item idea, if you got some gear to add then drop it in after you get something out and then ship it on to the next person. I think a lot of us have some good gear that we either don't need or no longer use that a fellow RAT could use.

Kinda off topic, but I wanted to say that this just goes to show the caliber of people who are part of the RAT community. I think we have some of the best people in the knife community, always willing to help out each other and pitch in wherever possible. Makes me rather proud to be a part of this whole thing...... Ok, ok, enough of my sentimental a$$ kissing. :D

Oh, and I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes. I'm at work right now pulling a double......tiredness and no spell check isn't a good thing. :p
