I just bought one but won't have it until later in the week, so i'm wondering now that people have gotten to play with theirs, what are your impressions?

I will let you know as soon as I get mine.... Monday maybe?

I won't have mine for a long while allowing for process time and international delivery ..... so it would be good to hear others views .....

I've seen it make a convertible and get all banged up, but I've yet to see real impressions. The b11 will hopefully take the place of all choppers for me.

I'm excited to compair it to the NMFBM.

We'll see if the Basic 11 can but a gash in my leg, larger than 4" - without feeling it.:D

I await the mailman.

I just got one 230, and its pretty cool! Its light and blade heavy but still thicker than the BWM. I like the blade heavy design. Mine weighed in at 17 oz, 1 ounce lighter than my DFCG. My NMFBM weighs close to 29oz.

Its width(or height I guess) is about 1/3 smaller than the NMFBM and about .25 inches shorter in length. The Ricasso is a bit larger than other Busses but makes no diff to me. The handle is smaller but since I have smaller hands (no relation to you know what ;) ) the handle fits well in my hands. I have always been a fan of the DF cuz of the weight and comfort in handle and this is an eact match of that with better steel. I havent chopped with it yet, but I have a feeling will be able to hold its own.

IMO, I love it but it wont be the ultimate chopper. I am hiking around Mt. Shasta this summer (about 30 miles) so I need a blade to take that is light and chopperish (yes i made that word up). My 4 choices were the 15oz SAR 8, the 18 oz DF, the 22oz BWM or the 17oz B11. I am def choosing the B11 now that its around. I think its the perfect weight/utility to bring along with my 3in 2oz Titatnium "kitchen" duty knife

Cappy, thanks for your impressions!

I've got a few looooong Mt hikes this season and a lot in the winter planned and am looking for a nice comfortable res c chopper that's on the lighter side. I'm not looking for the single best chopper, if I was i'd look at getting one of those oversized monster kukris HI puts out. I want a GREAT chopper in a comfortable package, I think this might be it. The only reason the dogfather wasn't my grail was edge retention was horrifically bad.

How do you think it will compare to the mistresses?

Got to test mine today on my buddys soon to be gone apple tree. The only other choppers in my collection that Ive used are a CGFBM and HOGFSH. If I had to chose from the 3 to wail on, I would choose the B11. Though there is not as much handle on the B11, I have absolutely no problems with it. I love res-c and the light weight of the B11, you can swing it comfortably forever. Mine has its factory edge but it still bites VERY DEEP. She trimmed the tree wonderfully. Fun times

I cant wait to make a sheath for it. This is going to be my go to chopper, might keep it in the car.

The Basic 11 is perfect for what it is meant to be and do. It chops amazing for it's size and light but blade heavy weight and the Res-C handle would be a nice option to have on all of the bigger blades, but I am just happy to have at least one INFI chopper that doesn't ring my hand like an axe. I love all of my choppers, but the B11 could easily serve as my only one if I ever needed it to, but I sure would miss the Blue/Black. The thinner angle on the standard V edge really gives it a good bite. Having heavily used the FBM LE, CGFBM, NMFBM LE, CG BWM, FSH, SAR 8, NMSFNO, Ruck and now even the Gladius for chopping wood, I can tell you that for it's weight it the B11 performs closer to the blades twice as heavy than to those in a similar weight class. It's lighter than either of my BWM's which were my hiking choppers until now. I may even try out piggy backing the sheath for it with either the SS4 or S5LE for a Res-C/INFI lightweight set. I have spent a lot of time and money trying to figure out which ones I like best or what works for me and the B11 just jumped way up near the top. My CGFBM is not in the pics since it is getting some of Garth's magic applied to it, but I would say my favorite lightweight choppers are the B11, followed by the CGFBM and CG BWM in a tie. The NMFBM in LE thickness is of course the best chopper I own short of the Gladius, which has no equal.

Man you got a bunch of Busse's

Nice group.

I hope to get one. Seems perfect for trail and camp clearing in my neck of the woods.

I am hoping the handle is roomy enough for my hands. XXL gloves are tight on me.

The Busse Crew hit this one out of the park IMHO. I love the lighter weight and Res C.

Shouldn't be a problem since I have the same problem as you can see here in hand.

Some user shots from an hour ago all in the order they were taken. My aim was a little off after just finishing using the Gladius.
