Now that its been out for a while, what are your thoughts on the Basic 11?

any in-hand pics of it? i am trying to decide if it is too large for my liking or not. looks perfect, though!

Handle is very roomy. This thing can split me in half.
Hows that for looking perfect?

See post #18 of this thread, it's the one with a big hand wrapped around the handle and a tape measure for scale.  ;)

Spend all your shirt money on the Basic 11?

My thought exactly, but maybe it proves the point as to how it can split him in half?

Well my B11 should be here sometime this afternoon, I'll try and get some blade/nipple shots to show scale. :D

Honestly, i'm very excited for this blade.

I expect to see a video too since that brand spanking new Nikon D5000 shoots video. :D

Just got mine!!!

Very fast and light in hand. It bites really well. It doesn't have the mass destruction feel that the NMFBM has, but it will serve well as an all day blade!

Don't do it 230 one per thread is more than enough  :foot: :p

I am going to strip my black user. The coating is coming off WAY too easily and quickly and underneath it is VERY shiny... I'm thinking it may just be satin underneath though I don't know why it would be. Mind you I am not complaining here as this thing will look sweet in satin if that is the case. I will report back after I get her done, but it won't be for a few days since I'm off on another road trip in a few minutes. Soon I'll be choppin up the pine trees up north again and out of this triple digit heat! :D

Full height flat grinds look very nice under the coating generally, with no dimples.

Usually after stripping they require very little work to make them look nice.

Agreed, hoping that's till true, as I like to strip my users. Looking forward to Tim's report.

Are these things going to be available from the shop, or at the store anytime soon? I'd like to pick one up if I get the chance.

I like my B11 so much, I want to get another when/if they are offered again :) Nice big knife that isn't overly heavy and I could see it being worked with all day long.

The only thing that is off so far is the grip for ankle high brush work, with strokes parralel to the ground strokes. It doesn't quite roll in the hand like the BWM or fusion handles.

I think a lanyard will fix the problem.

Full on chopping is something it does very well.

It's funny how much alike it is to the BWM in size and overall weight, but they perform quite differently.

My 5 :o just showed up, Thanks Amy !!!

I'd gotten the syms as insurance against not scoring the Asyms for me and my proxies.

3 Blk Syms
1 Blk Asym
1 Sage Asym

The sage will be my user, 1 blk sym & the blk Asym go into the safe.

Hmmm, that leaves some extras
