Now They're Selling Them in Boxes.

I sent the seller a message asking to have a picture of the box label posted or at least to tell me what it said. Here is his reply:

"Dear plumberdv,

SORRY, THE BOX ONLY HAS AN ANVIL WITH A "B" IN IT. ITEM WASN'T SUSPOSSED TO BE LISTED TILL SUN. BOX IS THE ONE THAT CAME WITH KNIFE. DOESN'T QUITE FIT."

Actually, some of the boxes have that on the end flap. Here's one.

How can people get away with stuff like this!

I know it's sle-bay but this really takes the cake!

Seller said he has gotten 12 emails...:thumbup::D

But listing is still up.

I like the part where the seller said it's the box the knife came in but it doesn't quite fit.

Did he answer you? He hasn't responded to my last message, but he did post my question in the listing.

He answered a couple of mine. Gave him some history on tang and sheath stamps. Buck has never date stamped a sheath to my knowledge.

I sent the following e-mail and here is his reply.

Dear aaronsgrumpygrandpa,

Are you aware that your knife is a counterfeit BUCK. They have been offered before but by some seller in China. This is the first time that I have seen one offered with a BUCK box but, be assured, that knife has never even been near the Buck Factory.

Dear telechronos,

I DON'T KNOW I'AM NOT A DEALER OR COLLECTOR THANKS

As of this moment, there is no change in his listing.

Telechronos:):):)

Just for fun....

There's also an auction on for a chopped 124 that really resembles this in style, but I think it's just a coincidence.

I'm thinking the chopped 124 is really just a chopped 124.

I emailed him last night to ask about blade markings and a warranty card. Trying to drive the point home in his hard head that he's obviously selling a POS counterfeit.

Haven't heard back from him. He seems to have the ethics of the average cockroach.

Is there a way to put a seller on sle-bay on ignore? I want to be sure I never buy ANYTHING from this person.

I reported the auction to sle-bay. Doubt they will do anything but it was worth a try at least. Maybe if we all report they will get on it.

I sent the seller an email.> I just want you to know that Buck knife you're selling is a FAKE.It's not a Buck knife,it's a COUNTERFEIT. I wonder if he will email me back?

Something about that guy rang a bell and I finally remembered him from a few months back. He's the same old fool that listed a "Vintage 1960's or '70's Buck 110" that had a post-1986 date stamp (don't remember what year) on it. I contacted him and told him what year it was actually made and got the same kind of "Duhh, I don't know, I'm not a collector" response. He never changed the listing or description of that one either. ;)

Well, I just told him that he's got a whole bunch of Buck collectors up in arms and that if he doesn't address this that one of them will probably buy it just to neg him because it's a fake.

Maybe that will get his attention.

He's already got a neg for selling repro instruction manuals as genuine.

;)

He removed it.

They all understand the language of the neg.

He sells mostly Honda parts anyway and I'm sure he doesn't want a cheap knife to ruin his feedback.
