Now we're talkin' (GEC "Courthouse" Whittler Photos - go to the last page)

Nice lines and blade choice on that new one. Very practical and usable looking.

I have purchased a couple of GEC patterns in stag and have been impressed, but this pattern is my favorite I have seen from them. Now if I can avoid the temptation. ;)

Thanks for the preview. (I think. :D)

Well, when it's right then you know it's right.

I got me an order in for one of these guys, and I'm pretty excited about it to say the least.

I'd have to go with :thumbdn:. It's not just this knife though. I have just never really cared for the congress frame, regardless of the blades.

It was there before. Here is the easy pocket raisin and it looks like glitter is up as well.

I have one of the Sleeveboards with a wharncliffe and coping blade, and it's nice... but I'd really prefer wharncliffe and pen, just to have the option of a bit of belly. This one has the same issue. But it reminds me I really should get one of their normal half congresses.

The Wharnie with a coping in the 3 1/2" size will make a great whittler

Better than the 3" Sleeveboard with a main wharnie and coping which would be too small to hold for a lenght of time

Good lookin'. Wish they made a "junior".

Mike

You and me both. Love the look of it mostly because of the wharncliffe, but what I'd really like to see is a small 1/2 congress at 3" closed.

The dark raisin jigged bone doesn't exactly speak to me either.

I carry an executive whittler everyday in my scrubs and I actually use the coping and wharncliffe almost exclusively. I rarely use the pen and don't miss it much. This in snakewood got me excited- maybe I'll have to have 2 knives to rotate at work.

Nice looking knife...a definite pocket friendly and useful blade combination.

Notice the difference between a Norfolk style knife and a congress is the Norfolk is not an equal end pattern and the "rocker pin" is not in the center. There are swell center congress knives though and I do like the looks of that pattern.

I think that I would prefer a Turkish clip rather than the wharncliffe. But as long as I'm playing fantasy knife maker I would also use 2 springs on this model.

Notice though, that this is bigger than their usual Congress/Half Congress at 3.75" as opposed to 3.5" this together with the rounded bolsters give a lot more credibility to the Wharncliffe blade.

That shield on the Tidioute looks exceptionally well balanced, can't wait to see what Ram's Horn looks like on this pattern-or some proper photos for that matter:D

My #61 Congress is 3-11/16" closed, so the difference between it and the new #62 should only be 1/16".

I'd be willing to bet that if they named this acrylic "Red Lava Lamp" instead of "Tomato" sales would increase by a factor of ten. :D

I think I like this one, hope to see interesting handles
what color is the raisin? kinda violet? black? hope for a "man" color

Rick, you are right about those dimensions, I just checked my stag Half Congress.

I'd like to see a picture of one shut, see how the Wharncliffe looks. I assume they'll have the cutaway nick for the Cope blade too?

That acrylic has a different shield from the Raisin Bone. Raisin could be an interesting almost black colour or it could be....

Looking at the edges of the raisin, it looks like a dark purple. I'd love to see some better pics but it looks aptly named to me.

Looks like they changed the pictures up again so some of the links no longer appear. Well, here are some new pics for the time being. I still haven't seen a pic of one in the closed position. I think they look very attractive. I have heard it confirmed that they have half stops. I would have preferred a pen secondary so I think I'll stick to my #61 for now.

Just wish somebody had one they could photo...The Ram's Horn could be very worthwhile and I prefer the Tidioute rendering of this pattern. Anybody got a decent picture of that Raisin as it appeared on the 25 EZ-Open in stainless a few months back??
