Nude Old Timers

Codger & LT.
I am glad that both you you are posting again. This forum needs both of your input to remain what it is; The Source For Schrade Information.

I value & respect both of your input, documented or otherwise. You both are a wealth of Schrade information and you each have different strengths in the way you present information. When I read a post from LT on a particular knife and then read a post from Codger (especially a "Ramble") I have a pretty good idea of what that knife is like, the issues around it and usually something to link it to the real world or to a real person. This is what gives a knife the added value that makes it desirable to collect.

I appreciate the passion you both have for Schrade. Neither of you know how much money you have both cost me. :D  :D After reading a post by one or the other of you (often from both), I become enamored by a certain knife and I can't rest until I get it! :D When someone who loves Schrade like you both do, describes the fine points of a particular model, the enthusiasm is contagious.

I came to this forum in October of last year, interested in Schrades, because I used to sell them, I liked them and had several and learned that they were no longer in business. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the two of you i would now consider myself a somewhat knowledgeable Schradeaholic. :D

Thank you both for contributing to my delinquency! :D :D

Thankyou both for the nice words they are most appreciated. Once again please excuse my inability to restrain my feelings when I believe I have been slighted. I often react with a howitzer when something much less potent will do the job. I agree with Glen 11 year olds often have more control than I sometimes do. LT

Forums and the people on them come and go. I do not know why Del does not post more.

LT & Codger - Glad to see you both back.

I've not posted more because I haven't much to contribute. My knowledge has been surpassed, and this forum has collectively gathered what I believe is the most factual and accurate database of Schrade information.

I visit often, and continue to learn about Schrade knives, even if my direction and major interest has shifted somewhat.

I've been priviledged to have some insight as to what went on with Scrade shared with me that I'm not at liberty to pass on, however, like most of life today, there are differing versions, perspectives and "facts". In my humble opinion, the full and complete 'story' will never be known.

I wish and hope that the gathering and sharing of Schrade information and data will continue, and that the collective 'body-of-work' on and by this forum will not be someday found it a book without some recognition given (maybe a significant contribution to those who made(and make) this forum possible?).

I'd like to think that the history and info that is compiled here is a group effort. Well, usually just a couple guys with everyone else like me nodding in the affirmative. Someone posts some info, then others fill in another piece of the puzzle, and it all clicks into place.

There is no "one source" of info out there, least not yet. We are all important to this cause, even a bystander like me. I might show a pic of knife, which raises a question, then someone else has some tidbit to add, and so on...we each in our own way contribute to preserving the history of Schrade and it's relatives.

I read the posts here in the last few days, and thought of my father. He is still alive, but not in the greatest shape. He has an old coworker and EOD buddy, and a number of years back they had a falling out over some really childish, stupid issue. Their stubborn pride got in the way of moving past it, and they were not speaking at all. In the last couple years my dad's body has been slowly breaking down. Kidney's not working, scleroderma, etc. My dad has had some frequent stays in the hospital over the last year. My dad's friend volunteers at that same hospital. Whether it was my mom tipping him off, or purely chance, they connected and are speaking again. Who knows what will happen down the road for my father, but both of these guys will be able to live with themselves now for not carrying unnecessary baggage.

Why did I bring this up? I don't know. I don't think this was a childish or stupid issue, though. A man's got to have his convictions and everyone feels strongly about certain issues. If you give up on your convictions, then you are throwing in the towel. Everyone is prideful, we cannot all be best buddies with each other. People change, they get crochety.

I just like the way we have always been able to filter out the outside world, politics, war, etc. and just have a good time shooting the bull. This is special. Thanks to all for the info I have "stolen" from you.

Besides, where else can I see pics of socks, thongs, cat hair, drown royal, ping pong balls, etc. all at the same time.

Glenn
