This small hunter is really taking off! Here's my latest in canvas. I am very pleased with the grind lines on the blade and am surprised at how much I like the look of the turquoise. As with the others, I hand-sanded the handles with 220grt, then scotchbrited.

One thing I do love about these types of knives is how easy they are to care for. The blade and the handles can be scotchbrited back to original look with little effort!

I accept PayPal, Credit Card, checks that clear, and money orders.

I like the Turquoise Canvas Micarta color myself, looks good. Probably even better in real life.

Hey all,

I just purchased two of these same hunters in different colors of Micarta (black & green)but the rest of the specs are the same.. These knives are just incredible!!

First off the fit & finish is dead nuts perfect!.. The scales are matched exquisitely in every detail including length, width, thickness and grain pattern.. The handle itself is nice and chunky and is a full four inches in length. Its perfectly proportional scales fits around its indestructible full tang construction super snug making this a handle fit for a mans size paw, and is not one of those skimpy and skinny hard to hold handles you get with some customs.

Second, the grind on this blade is as sweet and as uniform as any I have seen including my very high end customs, my Doziers and Ruanas customs or any other for that fact! These blades are literally hair popping shaving sharp right out of the sheath...

.. So of coarse I just had to use it immediately. Not having anything to gut or skin right after the Postman arrived and having a B-B-Q supper to prepare, I decided to utilize my new shadowknives hunter and was very impressed with how the lightly sanded Micarta scales stick right to the palm of your hand when wet! Of coarse the blade performed like a champ going through a pork shoulder and boning multiple racks of ribs with ease as well as cutting and shaving all matter of fruit and veggies.

Last but not least you all will be happy to receive a very fine reinforced leather hide sheath that works more like a pistol holster than a simple knife scabbard. I don't know what his technique is for preparing his sheathes but they go well beyond merely a strong knife sheath!

Suffice it to say I have a new knifemaker for my future customs!!.:) Thanks Eddie!!

Best,
Anthony

tony, after reading what you said i almost went to my knees! i am my own worst critic when it comes to finishing my work. it just blows me away when you say that the quality and fit and finish is THERE! that's what i always try for ...fit and finish! thankyou thank you thank you!
eddie

hey! i CAN put this on my website right!!!??? if it's alright with you.

I just got my green canvas hunter today, and everything sunnyd says is true. I may not have Kareem Abdul Jabbar hands, but I'm a slightly large (i.e. big and fat) guy and the handle fits my hand beautifully. The canvas micarta is finished just right - not slickly finished but nicely done to look good while still providing a great grip. Much better looking than a bead-blasted canvas handle. The blade finish is also attractive, with even grinds and a nice distal taper. I like to look down the nose of a knife, point on, and see a perfect mirror image of the grinds on left and right - and they are. And yes, the sheath was very well done indeed. It's stiff, looks good and holds the knife right in there. I'm very satisfied!

Sunnyd and Torz- i guess 30 years of working for the man, i've learned a thing or two about making knives. i'm just trying to make a living. your compliments are GREATly appreciated. Eddie

How is the blade ground? (hollow ground? flat ground? convex appleseed grind?) The pics look like hollow ground to me.

You offer a nice price on a clean utilitarian design executed in low-maintenance materials. Nice work!!

Would you ship to Canada? If so, how much. Email me off forum if you feel like it. As well, could you add a lanyard hole? Just asking, I thought I'd seen mention of that somehwere. I've very tempted . . .

Benchmade- Thanks for your interest! Yes, I will gladly ship to Canada, a good neighbor, $5 more is probably enough.

I could not place a lanyard in the IX009 you see, but could have one made toward the end of the week. Email me if you are interested, it wouldn't cost much more either.
Eddie

Bill,

You are in for a real treat my friend.. When you see, and then expierence your shadowknives custom knife while performing your own cutting chores you will be simply amazed at what a fine tool this hunter really is.

I have been carrying this bad boy on my right hip and using this as my EDC since I recieved it late last week and I just can't seem to put it back down..

Best~
