Nut'n Fancy just lost me

Hardly to the point, but he makes it better than almost anyone else out there. His reviews are pretty in-depth and although his great vocabulary obviously isn't appreciated by everyone, I find that it really adds to the vids.

That is true, I also noticed that he has a good way with words, he is often pleasant to listen to.
And indeed his clips are in-depth.

My humble little hobby reviews have a very different viewpoint (no tactical focus, rather lifestyle-oriented) yet I acknowledge he often does a pretty good job, and it is obvious that far more people prefer his style of videos!

Regarding video length:
Sometimes I wish that I had signed up earlier to YT so I wouldn't be limited to the 11 minutes maximum video length. Usually it's ok, as it forces me to be brief, to the point and without much repetition, but it happens regularly that I have to hurry towards the end to make it fit in the timing and still I realize that I couldn't say a few interesting tidbits.

Even while adding extra info, Nutn probably overextends some his clips a bit too much. I would be curious to see the youtube "Hotspots" graph for his longer clips - this is an interesting graph that shows where in your clip people are inclined to fast forward or stop (below average) to even rewind portions (above average). I freely admit that my graphs show, even within my 11 minutes, I sometimes lose people's interest from halfway onwards - my terrible accent won't help of course.

Haha Dagon, I love your reviews! Its refreshing to hear someone European doing good reviews on knives from an intelligent viewpoint. I guess Nutn pulls on the patriotic strings of Americans and that helps his views. You really get some nice folders that are truly beautiful. Id have to say that most people can't appreciate things like that.

Keep it up!

I haven't posted here in a loooooooong while but I've been reading posts the past few days after getting a Delica 1 *crazy* cheap recently and came across this thread.

I don't remember how it was I first stumbled across nutnfancy (probably looking for reviews of a particular knife--think that's how I found cutlerlylover, too), but I know it was when his videos were a tad shorter. :)

In any case, nobody on YouTube is going to appeal to everyone and we all have our own quirks that rub people the wrong way. I'm not going to form any opinion of his military service, having a cousin in the military that I wouldn't trust with a gun, myself, but maybe that's just me--though my father's nickname for him when he was a kid was Destructo. ;)

Nutnfancy can talk for a good long while about things that I'd be done with in about 10 minutes, but I'm more of a quick-and-to-the-point kind of person, so I'll try to get to it now. Along with some of the things other people have mentioned that they like about him, I've just gotta say this: he's one of the few knife/gun/gear reviewers on YouTube who remembers that there are both male and female users of all these items he reviews, whether military or civilian. I have to give him a  for that.

I like his reviews. But I have a sweet spirit. :p

His personality is a little over the edge, but thats also what makes him fun to watch. Compare his videos to those of the average stiff who makes youtube videos, and you quickly see the difference. Most are flat, lifeless, and boring. At least Nutnfancy is into it, and for me that helps make his videos fun to watch. Buffalo is right about him stretching 4 minutes worth of material into 15 minutes.

Well said noodle. A civil, well thought out counter point. I see these so rarely these days. I really wish that more people on this forum would apply a similiar approach. As to nutfancy, I have never seen enough of one of his videos to even have a valid opinion. I usually just view the knife being reviewed and see how it fits the hand and try to glean an idea of the fit and finish.
