Nut'n Fancy just lost me

I stumbled upon one of his reviews and then his channel of YouTube a few months ago and it seems to me that he gives you a lot of info for free. I've noticed that he says "dude" a lot and has his own likes and dislikes but wouldn't we all if we tried to to the same type of video reviews? I can't imagine how much time it would take to edit a 5-10 minute review I were we're to make one (God forbid). I have no doubt that it's one of those things that looks much easier than it really is. I've also noticed that he's very concerned about the weight of a knife and if it's over so many ounces he'll say he wouldn't carry it and I can't help but think that I'd rather lose 5 pounds myself (me not him) and carry whatever knife I wanted. I enjoy watching his reviews of knives I'm considering to purchase, even if I disagree with his opinions it gives me more info on that knife. More power to him and I hope that he continues posting his reviews.
Just my opinion...take care.

I watched his video of carry guns and he stated that the XD that I carry is too large to carry, BS.

"Drama Queen" ..... perhaps. For me it wasn't the knife wound blown out of proportion but his ongoing concern for what people on youtube think of him and the so-call "armchair elitists." It seems that he spends a lot of time in his vids rebutting his critics and trolls when for the most part his fans are the ones watching.

In any case, other than his preoccupation for video segments which fire back at antagonists, I don't really have any problem with what the man does. I really like his reviews and have found that I'm often in agreement with his opinions and ideas. The man is obviously a patriot in that he's pro-freedom, pro-constitution, pro-American and pro-human rights. He really "digs" knives, firearms, and other neat equipment so you'd folks on this forum especially would give him some latitude. I agree that some of his vids are a bit "bloated" with extra's but at the same time they're not generally lacking information. There is a certain amount of entertainment built into his vids and for the most part people like that as evidence in his growing number of subscribers.

I guess I'm a very non-critical person when it comes to non-critical matters. More power to the "dude."

Nutnfancy gets his hands on alot of great gear and gets the gear some exposure time, for that I applaud him.

But, I believe he spreads harmful misinformation, and does it with the justifacation that he is a service member. I am a Marine, but not a knife or even firearm expert, just an enthusiast.

His TB Tracker review was a review of what he saw in a fictional movie.

His Tactical clinics showcase a biker with a ruger falling out of his pocket, and riding down the highway with an SKS on his back. Not only that, but the other man that showed up to his clinic was a fat man in a kilt with broken guns galore. His tactical advice was exactly what Id expect an air Force pilot to know....not much.

People, watch his reviews to see what a knife looks like and how it opens, but leave it at that. His "POU" is just as fabricated as his tactical background.

I hope you watch his vids with a grain or two of salt.

I like the reviews and find that for the most part they contain good information and comparisons. Not too crazy about when he deviates into the philosophical realm, and fast forward through it.

I'm new here, but I found this place because of Nutnfancy so I guess I have some bias towards him.

I don't understand why people bother to criticize inconsequential things like who his friends are. Really? Who cares that one of his friends is a fat guy in a kilt? I'm with Patriot222 on this, I'm not watching with a critical eye to spot his bad form with a knife or his idiosyncracies. If I'm not watching for information, then I'm watching for entertainment because I think the guy and most of his "dudes" are a pretty entertaining bunch. I love his videos because they're informative, but, like he always says, it's just one more data point.

He appears to really enjoy the attention he gets a little too much. And a 20 min session about a knife that hasn't been tested or used at all is not a useful review.

QFT.

I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about collecting knives if ntnfancy´s videos were not around the tube.
He express his own personal opinions and point of views and put the disclaimer about it. I wouldn't be criticizing his reviews unless I were paying to watch his videos.

Ever count how many times he says tactical :D

I do not know who nutnfancy is but by the description and how long he takes to say something I think I know who you are talking about. And yes sometimes I wish he would "just get on with it". But everybody is an individual if not this old world would be very boring.

And not just him but what is it with all this tactical talk. Every thing is tactical it seems. I cannot remember ever needing to defend myself with a knife nor do I know anyone that has. What happend to the good old days of a knife being a simple needed tool for day to day tasks. Enough with the demonizing a simple tool. True the military may have a need of a tactical knife but I even doubt they have very little use for a tactical knife nor the opportinuity for hand to hand combat with a knive. Maybe its just me but I think of a knife as a simple tool. All this tactical talk can just have one destination. More knife laws with all this tactical talk. Get over it. Ok now bring on all the disagreemants.

He makes great videos. He does go on about things way too long but it's useful information so it's all good.

I can’t believe how much you guys get hung-up on some of the things he says. The word “tactical” can mean all sorts of stuff. Stop watching his videos if you don’t like them…while you are at it stop whining on forums as well. These conversations server no purpose at all…

The only thing I'm curious about is your comment:
His "POU" is just as fabricated as his tactical background.
I only assume you've got some proof right :jerkit:

You know how much money that guy makes through the youtube partner ship program, and with Google ad sense?

With all those subscribers he has, he's making a friggin' sh!t load of it.

So anyone who says that he's not making any money from doing the reviews he does, is either a victim of hero worship or is just to ignorant to see the set up he's got going on.

With all that money he's getting, he should be buying gear (which I'm sure he does) then doing giveaways to his subscribers. The people who have made him into the success he is today.

Now you don't see too many giveaways coming out of the TNP project do you?

I find nutnfancy to be one of the few better reviewers out there. His presentations are to the point and very well done.

Hardly to the point, but he makes it better than almost anyone else out there. His reviews are pretty in-depth and although his great vocabulary obviously isn't appreciated by everyone, I find that it really adds to the vids.
