I always get a kick out of threads like this.

We're on a forum where people spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on knives every year, most of which they never really use! But your going to criticize the spending habits of someone else? Give your head a shake.

I guess you bought one huh? ;)

This thread shouldn't even be in the Spyderco forum. The warranty is void, and it's no longer a $35 Spyderco knife. It's...whatever it is now.
By your logic I shouldn't post about my Santa Fe Stoneworks Kiwis on this or the Spyderco factory forum either. Guess I should be thankful you're not a mod.

I didn't, and I think spending $280 for one was irrational. But I agree with mat_890 that a lot of the negative comments come from folks who've made at least one knife purchase most of us would consider equally irrational.

A fool and his money-get a knife autographed by a very strange man who speaks about himself in the third person.

I can't recall Nutnfancy ever having spoken about himself in the 3rd person (though with hundreds of videos, anything is possible), and he doesn't seem so strange to me. He likes his knives, his guns and his camping, and he has a type A personality that make his videos vastly more fun to watch than those of the folks who emulate him. He served his country, seems to love his family, and is very easy to ignore for anyone who doesn't want to know what he is doing.

I don't get the vitriol, but then again, I have a sweet spirit.

Do you all really think someone paid that??? To be honest, I don't.

Alot of tricks over at the bay. If some bought up several of a model, and plan to list them, they will at times get there buddy's to jack the price up on the first one or two. They never collect the money, or intended to. When they(or there friend) list the others they may bring a higher price since most think the first one sold for such a high price.

I'm not saying thats the case here, as I have no idea. But it sure looks like it.
Stuff like that happens over there much more than most could imagine.

are you serious ?? in every single video i watched from him he said at least once something like "you know how much nutnfancy loves this or that " or i don't know what speaking of someone at the third person.

other than that i agree with you and unit. i value his work for the information and i'm pretty sure a lot of folks here prefer not saying they watch him.

i do when i have nothing else to do, he makes very complete reviews, i think is style is ridiculous but that doesn't make the info less complete or interresting. a bit annoying and childish with all the swoosh bam blah etc ... but you can get used to it.

and imho it's not much more stupid than speding twice or more the street price of a given sprint run on ebay.

Don't know, don't honestly care. No skin off my nose either way. Agree that it's possible, or at least not impossible. Yes, the two highest bidders don't have much feedback, which always increases suspicion. On the other hand, they both have some and the third highest bidder, who bid $180, has over 700 transactions. I do think what you're suggesting would be a bit harder to pull off with serially numbered knives, like that Tenacious, than with a knife where relisting it would not be quite so obvious.

When people do it they won't list the same number again, but will list(or have a friend do it) another number.
I'm like you, and could care less, but do know that this happens over there at times. And like I said, I really have no idea if thats the case here, it just appears that way to me.

The buyer obviously wanted to support nutnfancy, not buy a $300 knife. Quite alarming that there are people who can't figure that out.

I watch most of his videos and respect him for the amount of work he puts into his hobby while sharing that info, though I'll pass on the knife lol

people are quick to call something like this stupid, but how many of those same people could increase the value of a knife after signing their name?

Fairy tales. The seller pays provision over the final price (unless the winner officially backs out), and it's not peanuts. Way too expensive to joke around like that.

The person who bought this knife on Ebay in no way supported nutnfancy by doing so.

Fairy tales.

Like I said, I know for fact, no fairy tale. Believe what you want. I'm not going to explain it to you.

Again, I never said that was the case here. Looks like it to me, but I really have no idea. I was just wanting to share about something I know has happened there before. Sorry to mention it, move along.

excuse me but...who is this nutty and fancy guy again?

is he a knife maker?

He does alot of reviews on guns, knives, outdoor equipment, etc. on youtube. He gives the good and bad of the product and does alot of comparisons.
