Nutnfancy

How would one back an idiotic statement like that?? How many are "most"?!!

Like I said this topic was widely covered in another thread that turned into a flame war against nutnfancy. I was following the thread very closely and most of the people replying were against the way nutnfancy does his videos. The thread went on for many many pages of people bashing him. I'm sure the thread is still here somewhere, but look it up for yourself. I don't have to waste my time on an unaware dweeb like you.

Now, getting back on topic. I actually don't mind nutn at all. He was the one that brought me into the knife world and I have watched many of his old school reviews back when they were 10 minutes long. I don't really watch much of his newer stuff anymore though. But I like the guy, you have to admit that he puts in a lot of work and effort in his project.

I enjoy all his threads. I find them informative and engaging. I have seen him review knives in the past and beat the daylights
out of the Cold Steel Recons. He's consistent with his approach as he bases his reviews off the same criteria. Yeah they can
be a little long in the tooth, but hey, you don't have to listen do you? Just go to one of the other 100 reviewers out there.

As far as getting paid to endorse it's possible, but think about it the only reason that might be so is because he has such a
big following. While on the topic what do you think about the reviews in Tactical Knives and Blade? Don't they get paid? I have
every Tac Knives issue from it's inception and have yet to read one negative review.

Just my honest opinion. Your mileage may vary (psych :)

I dunno. I got my "introduction to knives" a goodly number of years before fancy man was born. I guess I appreciate anyone saying good things about knives and raising the interest level of the general population, whether or not I agree with exactly what he says or agree with his values. But I won't watch them.

The only video reviewer whose reviews I make a point of watching is schmalhaus. All those fellas who post videos in the Review section, I just click the back arrow and ignore. If you can't write it in prose that is readable, I am not interested.

I'd rather watch a Nutnfancy review any day than 99% of the other half assed vids on youtube. I'd rather watch 25 minutes of High res close up detail of the knife along with extremely in depth talk about it (especially if I'm going to purchase it); than watch a 10 minute video of some ass hat that says "umm" 55 times, has the res set to like 200ish, can't even tell what knife they're showing, and then just keeps saying things like "it's just a really great knife guys".... Ya thanks. Say what you will about a Nutnfancy; IMO he's someone who's uses knives in his day to day in the outdoors, edc role, military aspect, food prep, just about any role you'd want a capable knife to fill; and gives honest, in depth reviews on them. Sure he has his own opinions and preferences, but I prefer THAT. For example, he'll often straight up just say that you can do better for the money on a certain blade and show a comparison to a similar blade. Not many other reviewers will do that cause they usually are only reviewing a knife they loveee.

I don't really get all the bashing about his vids being long, seriously when you buy a new car do you test drive that shit or tell the dealer to shut the hell up and buy at the dealership no questions asked?

Just my 2.5 cents folks.

Just my thoughts I think he's one of the best reviewer on the tube, cutlerylover does some nice reviews as well, there are a few others that do a nice job but I can't recall their channel names.

I'd rather read the specs myself than have that rambling blowhard take a half hour to read them with ALL of his opinions on everything.

I don't mind a little bit of side talk during a review , but he does carry on too long off topic. People want to click on a vid to get info about a certain item and maybe a few others it relates to.

He does seem to cover most of the bases which I like , but too much cross-talk about other stuff.

Well I didnt resort to name calling, I just think its idiotic that that a new member thinks he know what most of the multithousand bladeforum members think or feel...I would hazard a guess that 'most' members didn't voice an opinion.

I was a subscriber to his channel when he first started, then the vids got waaaay too long and he got cocky. If anyone disagreed with him in the comments, they got labeld an "armchair elitist" or whatever his phrase is. Apparently if you don't make a vid to back up your comment, you are a p.o.s. I appreciate the time he takes to make his vids and that he has a right to his opinion but I un-subscribed long ago and I won't go back.

To those new to knives, please understand that he is one source of knowledge on the subject. Do your research and don't let a guy in Utah make all your purchasing decisions for you.

The good thing is that those of us who like his videos know where to find them, and those who don't like them know how not to find them.

Edited for spelling.

His personality irritates me, but I think he does have some useful things to say. I would pay much more attention to him if he went to either written or scripted reviews. My personal preference on a reviewer is the written/pic reviews Mistwalker does on this site. He makes me want just about every knife he discusses.

Nutnfancy does a lot more good than bad for the blade avid world. He introduces a lot of knife noobs into buying quality items, provides enough consistency to be reliable (if you agree with his views), and also tries to weigh in factors such as value and purpose of design. Altogether, the market is changing where most of us can't handle a knife before purchase. I like his video quality, and he goes into a good amount of detail; a lot more than little reviews attached to products before purchase (i.e. Amazon). I guess some can certainly say that they don't like lengthy reviews, but I'm not one of them. I like reading lengthy reviews in these forums, reading lengthy reviews in blade and firearm publications, and I certainly like long and detailed reviews from nutnfancy. Especially if I'm considering dropping my hard earned money for it.

Well said noodle,he's how I discovered the LD20 light that I think highly of.He does showcase some cool gear sometimes that this old guy hasn't seen.

I find some of his reviews valuable. However, his ego has gotten large over the past few years. He has become the messiah of the mall ninja and wal mart ranger.
