Nutnfancy's review of what a outdoor knife should be

Yep, your Skinny Ash would be terrible. You better go throw it off the closest bridge.

Personally myself I like to take a small blade(3") or a 4/5" blade and pair it with my medium forrest axe. I find that trying to use a 7"+ blade exerts too much energy when you could just use a properly weight distributed tool like an axe.

I know he once picked a Sog Flash II as the best EDC folder on the market. I would take any of his advice with a grain of salt and possibly a large pillar of salt concerning fixed blades.

One thing I like about the ASH is the blade height, which makes it work better for me. It really helps when batoning, which is why I like the ASH better than the SFNO.

The video has a lot of B.S..... :foot::foot:

at least the nut part is right :barf:

I agree! If you were the the only person on the planet that liked the Skinny ASH and it worked for you - run with it.:D

I absolutely cannot stand Nutnfancy, I find him to be the most irritating knife reviewer ever. That said, you seem VERY insecure about your skinny ash. First people are picking on you for it, now nutnfancy thinks its too heavy. It's YOUR knife, do YOU like it? Does it serve its purpose FOR YOU? If yes, stop worrying what other people think. If not, sell it and see if nutnfancy has a cool tacitcal survival blade with a drilled out tang and lots of jimping on the jimping he can recommend.

BTW, you don't want "decarb" put on, Decarburization is a product of heat treat which decreases the carbon content in the steel. The "decarb" layer that people confuse everything with is simply that carbon, which is why it rusts horrifically.

nutnfancy is a nut:D dont listen to him...unless your going high altitude back packing where every once counts you skinny ash will be perfect:thumbup:

Actually I was not thinking about him make me doubt my Ash. I can see bow you would take it that way but I was using my Ash as annexample since it's the only Busse I have besides my Culti. I'm cool with my Ash even though I haven't had the chance to use the dang thing.
So no I am not insecure about the knife but just pointing out the review and his accusations and wanted to see how he places certain knives in certain categories.

Like Tony G, I prefer my .22 ASH I over the NMSFNO and the SFNO. I've had and sold both. You need to use that thing and all doubts will be gone...

I've used knives the size of the knife he reviewed in the field and was happy with them. Now that I have an ASH1 or a Skinny ASH1 I prefer them. Much better chopping capability balanced with toughness and usefulness. VG-10 is sweet steel for a slicer but INFI should beat it overall.

Ok guys. I'm not trying to make this about menand my Skinny Ash. I simply want to know what y'all think about Nutnfacy's review and idealilogy and how his thoughts pair with Busse in general.

Mike brings up a great point. It all depends on what works FOR YOU! I used to be influenced by what others would say about a particular knife. For instance, I remember someone writing once..."the FFBM is waaay too heavy to hike with." I have a FFBM in my Maxped pack ALL THE TIME. Fishing trips down the street or 10 mile hikes in the Pine Barrons of Jersey, it always comes with me and I don't find it a hassle to drag along. Personally, I think the skinny ASH is an excellent knife for a "jack of all trades" type blade. If you like it, and it works for you, there is no need to dig deeper :)
