I honestly did not even see them until pointed out-- just saw new guy and followed up karda's commentary, I personally feel a little embarrassed I did not rabidly and viciously defend the honor of HI as I have in the past. This is simply not acceptable.
 
Y'all are diplomatic an nice. I try to be but sometimes its hard, me being all negative an all.

soooo; I would really like an apology from the OP if he wants my help in the future on this forum, I cannot offer help to people who offer disrespect to auntie and the kami.

I would just like the OP to , when he reads this, post a full apology and remove his disrespectful comments about auntie and the kami from his first post.
 
I also got a little "pissed off" when I read his comments about Auntie and the kami's but I will let it go this time due to his newness on the forum. I myself have only been on for a few weeks but I feel like a member of this small web family. Please read all the information on Aunties site... about Uncle Bill, the Kami's and how much they struggle, ect.

So that being said lets start over...

The M43 is definitely out of stock at the moment. I spoke with Auntie early last week and the only kukri's she had in were a 16in WWII and a 18in WWII. She is expecting a shipment in three weeks or so. I actually ordered a 18 sirupate and couldn't wait for it hahahah... So I ended up getting a 18 WWII to satisfy my HIKV. Since then I have ordered a villager and I am also waiting for the DOTD's. Im also getting a 20in sirupate once they are in stock.

HI's are very addicting gtk4158a and I am sure it wont be your last. Oh...I read in your post that you have studied the M43 for awhile but please realize that they are all hand made and their specs wont match the descripting all the time. I know of one person in this forum who has a M43 that is very very light, like 1.5lbs while others have M43's over 2lbs.

Its up to the kami that makes it and I wouldn't have it any other way. My WWII looks nothing like the one in the web store photo. It stay narrow much further up than others I have seen and the point is also different. Rest assured knowing you will be receiving a almost "custom" piece even when you order from the site. Just be patient and you will be rewarded with a heirloom quality piece.

It's easy to get bent out of shape guys. I say we follow Yangdu and Karda's lead and let it slide as they have. The internet is a curt and terse place. Not everyone understands how we do stuff around here, so a friendly poke in the right direction is all that's needed, and I think you fine folks have done just that. Transgressions are made by all from time to time.

If he would like to amend his first post, that would be a nice touch.
 
I remember when I first became part of the forums and thought to myself "I'll only get one. One's all I need anyways, right?". Got my Gelbu, bought a BVCAK, and have a custom blade on waiting list at the shop and after I get my custom I'll definitely buy more. Not buying any at the moment so when my custom gets to me it'll be like water after being lost in a desert.

Karda, it is to YOU that i offer an apology if one is needed because absolutely no disrespect was meant or intended. I was simply stating what i have observered after 5 weeks of watching silently. Best of wishes !
 
Sometimes we regret the things we say or how we say them. I understand and on behalf of those offended accept any apology you wish to give.I will admit I was a bit offended at first too, but I try to give new people some leeway unless they persist in being abrasive. I suppose now you understand that words must be chosen carefully around natives with sharp tongues and even sharper curved blades, lest the natives get restless..

To explain about the "old" kamis leaving.
Some had other family obligations, some tried to find more lucrative work doing other things. Some retired. Understandable. Two of our old Kamis have recently returned.... Kumar and Sher (the tiger) and we are happy and we welcome them back with open arms.
 
Welcome to the forum gtk4158a! As you may have noticed everyone here is very protective of HI and Auntie. She has earned our best support over time and I am sure that once you receive the M43 you will not be disappointed and may even become one of us. You have found a unique and slightly offbeat corner of BladeForum that is different than anything else around here. The "natives" are generally considered a very friendly group with the exception of the desire to share their HIKV with everyone they meet. Stick around for a bit and if you enjoy yourself then great. If you decide we are a bit too strange for you, well I am sure that happens occasionally too.
 
really appreciate the apology man, and we welcome you, karda does speak for us on that; I think you will find the newer kami team is up to snuff, and a head and shoulders above any "metal stamp" operation.

Ok I'm sorry I wanted to rip your throat out too. I as usual jumped to conclusions and Auntie holds a very special place in my heart.

Any offense aimed at her brings out the horrible ugly in me. Next time I want to remove someone's tonsils with my 25" sirupati I'll grab hold of something and fight the internal urges. Maybe a pacifier or something would help.

While you were specific in the direction of your apology likewise an apology to auntie removes the curse as it were.

Water under the bridge. I doubt your ready for a group hug or anything but we're ready when you are.

I am pretty much always in a group hug with all the dark spirits in my mandau-- I am willing to join in a normal group hug only if my mandau can also be in this planned group hug
