NWA forum knife design.

Nick,
I have some additional questions about the blade itself.
1) Does it have a flat grind as it appears to have?
2) Is the visible hamon indicative of it being zone hardened (hard edge, soft back)?
TIA

I want one too. How do we order and pay????

Yep, it is a full flat grind and edge hardend with a soft back.

Thanks
Nick:)

Damn! I too am now torn. Would wood handles be an option? Any pics of the sheath available.

I'll be in for one for sure. I may be interested in both sheaths as well- but as far as the materials go they are good as they are.

Regarding ferro rod loops and such: I recently received a knife from a local artist and wanted a place to store a 2"x1/8" ferro rod. He sewed a small pocket on the back of the sheath (between the sheath and your jeans) and the ferro rod goes into the pocket with about 1/4" sticking out so you can take it out. The rod is fully protected so you can rely on it being there. The loops that hold the larger ferro rods seem too exposed to me.

Thanks and yes he is. The GT is very understated ;) I was fortunate to be in the right place.

Oh, stuff the CC bills!

I'm definately in, before the queue gets any longer! Provided shipping to the UK is OK, and taking payment by PayPal.

Let us know when/how/who to pay etc.

I like the package as-is (leather, green micarta) but would be interested in what other options might be available and pricing. Especially a firesteel+loop.

Rick.

Here is the sheath I made for tknife. It has his fire steel in place with a little bit of para cord for added insurance. It will not fall out on it's own, I just thought the cord would be a nice touch. It is made from 8oz veg. tanned cow hide treated in bees wax. Unfortunatly I would need to add $8.00 for the extra leather and stiching. Please let me know what you guys think.

Nick:)

Cool, that came out great! Definitely looks secure, and the cord adds even more security. Right on Nick, I'm really happy with the total package :D

Looks very secure, especially with the added paracord. The firesteel loop I dislike is the one that came with my Bark River NorthStar. The loop is sewn into the stitching on the side of the sheath and kinda hangs out. Yours is more of a pocket that protects the ferro rod. I can go for that, $8 is fine.

Just thought I would mention, that I am away on a training course from tomorrow until Friday 18th and might not have internet access.

I definately want the knife, so please don't think I've lost interest if I can't respond until next weekend.

Cheers,
Rick.

I want it. Wow. I really like that whole setup.  Let us know the details on ordering and downpayments. I am really excited about this knife.
