The Nyala is a very nice small/medium fixed blade. It's a really nice knife for an EDC. It's small enough to carry comfortably and use discreetly, but big enogh to get a good range of tasks done with the blade at just under 4". That size also means that for more rural or out door work it needs twined up with something like an axe or larger knife though. I carried the Nyala for a short while (before I started carrying the Scout) I usually took a large 10-12" knife or hawk for all the chopping and other heavy work and kept the Nyala on person for the smaller jobs.
Sounds like exactly what I am looking for then. It would be living on my hip.

It will be a good choice. The knife does have a generous handle size. I like that as far as use because it gives great control of the knife and helps a lot when wet or tired etc. If I had one gripe it would be that the sheath could a little lower on the belt for me, but it's still perfectly useable as it is.
I'll try and post a few pics up later on.
This is a quick pic of a Scout with a Nyala, I'll post some better pics when I get back from work. The Sout is a Skinner reground into more of a drop point. There are not too many about as only those brave or crazy enough to take a CRK to the grinder have one....
