NYCKS New York Custom Knife show, of New Jersey :)

Don, I'm back home so those folks are probably having more fun then I am. Good show though. Better then last year IMO.

Not much forged stuff, but got to handle my all time favorite Jim Schmidt folding dagger. His ladder pattern is like no other. To bad I didn't have $47,000 to spare.

Well we here at DISKIN USA are very pleased to say that this morning we arrived a bit late but by the end of Day one we emptied the whole table of knives and we will be starting the day yo or tow with one knife

Shouldn't last too long :) Thank you NY/NJ

Many pics coming I just need to get a good signal to upload

You own it Joe! As one sales guy to another, nothing more or less would be expected.....rock on!

As a plus, I know that you and Matt are having a good time.

Wish I could have come out as well, but with what is going on out here, it just would not have been a smart move....quite possibly next year.

Best Regards,

Show increases with energy and attendance in step with the swing towards better tacticals. There is an urban younger crowd fueling this, however, the `regular` collector base still has plenty to come for.

Our workload was impressively high for a first day. So far, so GOOD! You will see.

Susan and I just enjoyed a great dinner with Kevin Casey and Philip Booth. Little Italy tomorrow....

Coop

Went to the show this AM - got there little early, so I had a chance to say hi to Coop and Susan, hopefully without messing up the flow too much :D

Show was busier than I've seen it in the past, "Tactical" stuff was hopping!

Agree with Coop, lots of younger, urban guys - interestingly, more with girlfriends in tow than in the past.....and some of the young ladies actually seemed interested in the knives

Finally got to meet Joe Paranee

Joe, really enjoyed talking with you and Matt Diskin.....not to mention that fabulous Fire ! The flipper was sweet as well, just super slick

Kevin Casey had some interesting "new look" takes on his trademark feather damascus, with some funky inlaid handles

Bunch of makers were already sold out by today, which is a good sign for the "community" at large.

Finally, prayers for RJ Martin, whose mom passed away unexpectedly recently. He is a great guy AND a great knife maker (of course) and his son Matt had some really nice pens there.

Bill Flynn

I didn't mention this in my rushed post but it was nice to see you breifly Joe as well as Jim and Susan. Joe sorry I didn't hang I've not been much of a social butterfly lately with all that's going on.

Agreed with Bill. The show was busier then the past few years. More ladies were also present and looking at knives. Not the show for forged blades but it was fun to handle everything else. I saw some Peter Carey knives that rocked my world and Chuck G. Had a few flippers that just felt fantastic. It was also good to handle the Diskin flipper. That thing is a beast!

So I arrived on Friday and made it about to find Joe and Matt. It was great meeting Joe after all this time!

I went over with my heart set on a flipper but after handling a fire, I couldn't help myself. Such an amazing piece.

Great one and smart move, as the Fires are pretty much gone to make way for other models....enjoy it!

The pleasure was all mine and thank you all for the support

The Fire is such an incredible knife it will be hard to top

But I have faith :)

For those that have a Fire .......you are part of an elite group

This knife rides in more makers pockets than any other that I know

This alone says volumes

Thank you all :)

you can use this knife a lot and it keeps its good looks and perfect mechanical function, and I know from experience! I've never been so impressed with a folding knife. Even as a beat on user, it will always at least return on my investment.

I finally stopped by with my Dad to meet Mr. Paranee. Super nice guy. Loved the knives he showed me. Thanks again for your generosity at the show and for what you do for the knife community.

Again thank you all

Good to meet Joe as well. Good peeps. The crowd was overaall young and tactical, with some good variety sprinkled in. Lots of hard flippin' going on :).

I arrived around opening on Saturday. I must admit I was a bit disappointed that so many makers tables were empty or down to a single display piece.

I was also surprised to find that by my estimate a third of the show was resellers, many of whom had items on their tables that were purchased at the show prior to public opening. Many makers reported being bought out by dealers/purveyors. Good sign for the industry maybe, but makes for a poor knife show experience.

The show was very crowded on Friday and many folks sold out

Saturday there was also a lot of traffic
