Thanks for the compliment. The wax waterproofs the leather and makes for a good tight fit, that will not loose it's shape. One other nice thing about the wax is that when the sheath gets scratched one can simply place it in front of a source of radiant heat and wait for the wax to surface and wipe dry with a clean cloth and the sheath is restored to new condition.

Looks great! I've been using 0-1 for the last year or so. If you wouldn't mind, would you be able to tell a guy what you use to bring out the temper line like that? If I would've seen this a month ago (before I made my own) I would've shot my budget to get it.

I have the first one of those Nick made, in my opinion, it's one of the best knives I own. The fit and finish has no mistakes, the whole knife is sturdy and made to be used and the blade an excellent edge and is razor sharp as it comes from Nick.

Unless the design is not your style, you won't be disappointed with one of these. Also, comes with a well made sheath that secures the knife in position, the knife will not be lost out traveling out in the field has been my experience.

I may even order another one next year

PS: this one looks top of the line IMO

Thanks for the great feedback guys, The pic. I posted is pretty poor, I just got a new camers and am still trying to figure out how to use it properly.

NDallyn, I HT my blades with a Oxy. Act. torch, and bring only the edge portion up to non- magnetic and quench in a mixture of used oils. I then simply temper it in a convection oven for two cycles of one hour each at 395 degrees. I hope that helps you out.

Thanks again
Nick:)

Yeah, I use the same method but was wondering if you etched or just hand sanded for hours to get it to stand out like that.

On this knife I did not etch in anything, I only hand sanded it. It really did'nt take too long. I never really time it though, so I would say maybe a hour and a half worth of sanding by hand.

Nick,
That looks like just what I have been searching for!! Can you elaborate on the grind from spine to edge?? Convex/flat and how thin is secondary bevel?
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks again fellas, you guys are too kind.

Bill, it is flat ground to the spine with a .020" thick edge before sharpening. It is sharpened with a 19 degree angle. I hope that answers your questions.

Thanks
Nick:)

Thanks again guys, NDallyn, or whoever is interested, I still have 3 blanks ready to grind. When I run out of blanks I'll just make some more, I really like the way this style feels so I have no problem with making more.
