O.K. Cyclist! What TRADITIONAL knife do you carry when riding?

Lotta different stuff, modern and traditional. Folders and fixed. As long as it doesn't poke or prod at a bad time or anytime, I've prolly carried it. Onliest problem I've had is a couple fallout-but they were users, and generally recovered.
Thanks, Neal

I mostly ride trails with my surly Krampus, and always have my Alox pioneer with me. In the spring when the trails need a bit of cleaning up, I'll have my opinel saw and some large fixed blade on me.

I ride a Surly Cross Check (among others) in fairer weather (a foot on the ground here now) and usually have a bag on the back rack. Rigged out for a geezer bike with extended steerer and Rivendell mustache bars and mountain bike shifters/brakes. Always a Schrade Delrin scout knife in there, but I never feel limited; might carry all manner of knives because I love them so; they are always traditional. I often have a Ruana or Buck fixed blade in the bag.

I ride a Cross Check too primarily... not much that bike can't do. I had risers on it at one point to make it more of a urban assault bike but in the end went back to drops...

Just saw this in search..... Always have a knife when I ride, usually clipped or in a pouch. I find the Spyderco Native to be perfect, even had to get a new clip from Spyderco due to the old one falling off, but not the knife! I even have it on in this CC race. Have used it to dig sticks out of the cassette and cut sip ties that hold down cables.

oh yeah, a warning! I was riding wearing my Swiss tool in its pouch on my belt. At some point in the dark I fell over....when I got home the sheath was open and Swisstool gone!!! Never found it, had to replace. Dont trust a snap!

I learned the same lesson, found securing the knife using a D ring has helped prevent loss.

I've found not riding drunk has improved my retention rate immeasurably. ;) Also I usually wear a Mountainsmith, umm, Daypack maybe? I'd have to look to see what model for sure I've had it so long. I actually didn't have a drivers license for 43+ years, until my son was born. :D Low "carbon" footprint.
Thanks, Neal

I carry a yellow Case trapper when riding a bike. I also have a kydex machete sheath attached to the bike behind the seat. If I am riding the levee or in the woods I carry a 12" Ontario machete. The bike, sheath and machete are all black, I don't think most people even notice the machete. I also wear jeans or regular clothes when riding..

I do like many above have said. I don't wear cycling clothes so whatever knife I am carrying that day will be the one in my pocket when I go out cycling. Plus the multitool in the bag.

Bikes are my #1 passion, and there's always a knife in my pocket so...

I really like my #77 barlow with spear and coping blades for a casual ride in the woods. Makes a great secondary camp knife for bikepacking, too. For longer rides or when I'm exploring some lesser known areas I'll strap my Bark River Highland Special to my belt and drop a SAK or Opinel in my pocket. I love the saw on my Victorinox Camper, but my No. 7 carbone is tought to beat for food prep around the campfire!

Glad to see there are so many other cyclists here. Anyone seen this Brooks multi-tool with clip point blade? A really beefy, well made too with a pretty sweet knife - those Brits sure know what a bike tourist needs!

I carry a separate knife from my bike tool and it's usually a SAK
