I probably should have posted earlier but there has been so much going on lately that it's very hard to bear.

Jessica is in surgery right now as I'm typing this. She went in about 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Jessica is having ALL of her colon removed.:( I just had a call from Stella maybe 10 minutes ago telling me that Jessica is still under and still in surgery. This was supposed to have been a 5-6 hour surgery.
Hopefully at some time in the future the Drs will be able to hook up Jessica's small intestine back to her rectum where she will be able to live a more normal life.
But in the interim there is going to be a feeding orfice And a colostomy bag.
This shouldn't happen to anyone under the age of 60 anyway. Happening to a 13 year old girl is the drizzlin shits!:grumpy:

All Smoke and Prayer will be very welcome.

Edit:
I've been trying to go on as I would on a normal day but it just ain't happening. I'm worried and scared, not only for now but for later too.:(

Thats awful.

My grandmother has crohn's disease and she has to have parts of her intestine removed every so many years.

Having anything like that happen to a little girl is just afwul.

The best of luck to her.

That is just horrible, Yvsa, I will definitely lift her up in prayer. :(

Any word Edutsi? Smoke and a song for her and the rest of the family...

Just got another call. Jessica is still under and still in surgery. Damned near 7 hours now for a 4-6 hour surgery.:( The Drs say they have half the colon out but have ran into scar tissue. Stella and I think they're not telling all they know at this time.:grumpy:

What horrible stuff for a child to endure...........

Jessica shall be in my thoughts and prayers.....

Stella called again just a few minutes ago, 9:30 p.m., that Jessica had just came out of surgery.
Eight and a half hours Jessica was under, that's going to be hard on her the next day or so.
The Dr told Stella that they had barely got there in time to save Jessica's life. When the Dr removed the colon the part he was holding in his hand just disentigrated. He said it wouldn't have been much longer at all before the colon would have perforated, thereby killing Jessica in the process.
Maybe now Jessica can have a somewhat chance of a happy life where she isn't hurting all the time.
And where she can stay off the damned steroids because of the inflamation the Crohn's caused!
The steroids are life savers but at a horrible cost. Sometimes the easement of pain is as bad or worse than the disease itself.

Thanks all for the Smoke and Prayer, it is Much Appreciated!!!!

I will include her in my nightly Rosary. As I get older, I find myself feeling that life is much too unfair for the children of our world. May whatever Deity May Be bring more happines to this young one !

Faith, my Brother.

Not good, Yvsa & sorry. I did light one for Jessica hours ago when I first saw this one. If we can do more please say so.

Ad Astra

Smoke and prayers for the lot of you. And repeat. Going now.
