Just had another call from Stella. The news isn't good. Stella also called about 5:30 a.m. and told us they had moved Jessica into ICU.
This last call just a few minutes ago a little before 9:00 a.m. was too let us know that Jessica has gone into septic shock.
Jessica's b/p is at 40/23 right now. Her temp is also back up, 103 degrees. They are wanting to put an arterial line in but can't hear a pulse good enough to find the artery to insert one.
I'm thinking at this time that if Jessica pulls out of this it's going to be a miracle for certain.
Thanks everyone. We've been setting here all day hoping that No News IS Good News as we haven't heard from Stella since this morning when she told us Jessica had went into septic shock.
I've been preparing myself for the dreaded call all day. I'm one who always hopes for the best but expects the worst. I'm glad that Jessica is still hanging in as long as she isn't suffering unduly.
I know she is one tough little girl and a fighter but I don't know how she has made it this long with such a traumatic surgery and then septic shock on top of it.
The barber down the street went into septic shock in the hospital a couple of years back.
He was released and getting ready to go home and his son was getting ready to go pick him up, by the time he got there Bob had walked West!
Very sudden! It's always been my understanding that people with septic shock don't last long.
