O.T. Today is a big day for me.

My 90 year old grandma had cateract surgery recently. She was shocked to find out that quite a few of her clothes were actually different colors than she had thought they were before the surgery.

Yvsa, it's about 8:13 pm my time and I see you've logged in. How are you?

Well I was here in spirit but not physically, had too take time out too eat and then another nap.;)
Scratchyness is better, Dr said it was normal and the result of the 3 mm incision.
All in all it is doing better all the way around. The worst part of the surgery was getting the sticky damned tape off my eye, top and bottom, and my face!:grumpy:
I can barely make out the monitor screen with it and read the blurry print so that's an improvement I can see right now!
I think it will be great when all the swelling subsides and it clears up completely.
We stopped on the way home and had a clear lens put in the left side of my glasses.:D
I'm still really sleepy so I figure this is gonna be another night like last night when I was up and down all night long.;)

Get some sleep. There's a good chance Mother Nature might let you sleep tonight regardless of the scratchyness.

I've been restless and not sleeping well myself. Strangely, when I recover by early afternoon from being tired, I work on my book like hell and get exhausted all over again.

Glad to hear everything went okay. I'll add a prayer for a quick recovery since I missed getting one out before your surgery.

take care,

Alan

Be gentle with yourslef. Your new "window" needs time to heal.
Things have really improved with this type of surgery Tom. I think it used too be that you weren't to bend or lift for several days after surgery but not anymore.:D
I have no limitations now except I'm not s'possed too rub my eye and there's a clear "patch" I'm too wear when I lay down too sleep.
The only limitation I had before was not being able too drive for 24 hours but that has passed now.
We were talking with a lady older than us at the office yesterday before surgery and she said the day she had her's she went home and cleaned house the rest of the day.:D
I do have too use an antibiotic as well as steroid drops in them four times a day until the 26th.
And surprisingly I had a fair night's sleep, went too bed about 2:00 and slept until 6:30. That's a long stretch for me.
I'll lay down after bit and grab a nap for an hour or two. :D

Great news, Yvsa! Heal up fast. :)

I had LASIK last year, so I know the eyedrop and taped plastic sleep goggle routine only too well. ;)

Yvsa,
Just noticed this thread. :o Glad to hear that the surgery went well!
I hope the recuperation is fast and painless.
You will enjoy the differance from what my few friends that have had it say.

Have you been hearing tunes Edutsi? Hope you are having a good day watching the race...

Why yes, yes I have.:D And I've been seeing something nasty hanging about as well.;) :D
Thanks Uwinv.
I am amazed at the progress! It is much, much, better today!:D
If I get back away from the screen and squint a wee tad I can actually read the pages with the new Tacoma font without my glasses on, still blurry as hell outta the right eye though and will be until I get if fixed in a few months.
I'm looking forward to only having too use reading glasses again.:D  :D

Good luck, Yvsa. Several members of my unit in WA had corrective surgery, and it appeared to work fine for them.

Glad to hear all went well with your surgery. They have this eye correction stuff down pretty pat now-a-days. I know several friends that have had LASIK type surgery and they see exceptionally well now.
