October BOTM bets and guesses

I wouldn't mind a 501 squire with the same black burlap micarta as last month. Or with Ebony. Or a 102 woodsman.

MOP is perhaps the rarest of all handles for the 112..and a run of 500? But yes I like the idea! I figure Buck will make some really special and important LE's next year for the 112 50th and I'm already getting my Buck budget ready for that. Look for a few very special auto's ,hopefully with a drop point, in fancy handles..

I know it's a long shot, and probably won't happen. But it would sure look nice alongside these.

My guess whatever it is will be a bit more generic to keep the price somewhat reasonable. I wish the 112 fit my hand better. Would be a good model to collect. The 110 is so popular the amount of customs is staggering.

I would not be shocked if was a 112..
One of these months youll be right.
I bet we won't see a 112 for the rest of the year. 2022 will the 50th anniversary of the 112, so next year I suspect there will be a few of them.
CJ said Buck has big plans for the 112 50th so I'm sure we will see quite a few different LE's. But above all I hope Buck will offer a drop point in the Custom shop. Especially premium steels!
When they do, let's hope 'they get it right' and not have a repeat of the faux pas they made when doing the 25th of the 110

Your right. There wasnt much done but the badge on the scale and the 110 is an Icon.!
Mike, I was referring to the adding the 112 in on the 25th Anniversary of the 110 and the mistake on the 112's blade badge dating.

You're right there wasn't much done on the 50th of the 110 so maybe we shouldn't expect much for the 112's 50th.

Buck's celebration the 100th of Buck Knives in 2002 was overwhelming. I started to gather their offerings when they began but quit after spending a ship load of money and barely touched the number and amount that they put out. I'm more selective now, just buy what I like, and will be that way on the 112's.

As an example of the multitude of examples offered on the 110 during the 100th, here are some combinations of medallion/tang stamp that I was able to get.

The 110 on top has a 2001 tang stamp and the 2002 100th medallion.
Next is the 2002 tang stamp and medallion.
Then 2002 tang stamp but no medallion.
Finally 2003 tang stamp and medallion...

As for me I don’t get to excited about the different anniversary special models unless they have the kinds of materials that I admire.
I was kinda interested in one of the 50th 110 models and the particular one I wanted, if I remember correctly had s30v blade, special handle covers with a medallion and was hard to come by and the higher price was enough to keep me out of the running.

Also there seemed to be some confusion in that some of the SFOs online had different kinds of medallions or badges and a few I came across were not tang stamped correctly like they were made from previous years and didn’t have the 50th stamp. I don’t know, maybe they were pictures that were photo shopped by that particular dealer to look similar but I didn’t want to end up with a non qualified specimen.

Anyhow I’m going to keep an eye out for any anniversary 112s that do appeal to me. I do like the 112 and they are a nice using knife but as I’ve said many times that in my kinda work and lifestyle I usually need a bit longer blade.

Here is the count of the 45 previous BOTM releases by model. I still don't see a 124 on the list.
