Ode to the Ladybug - Sal is a genius.

It's a perfect size. Really can't say anything bad about either blade shape. The only reason it got replaced was because I can't resist buying little knives.

Same reason I'll have that rescue Manbug coming. It's a compulsion.

I like carrying a Stainless Steel Ladybug on the keychain. While heavier than the FRN versions, the SS Ladybug is less likely to accidentally open while in pocket.

I may pick up the RMB as well but I like having a point on such a small knife. That's one reason I didn't go with the Roadie.

I agree, the sharp point is important to me. The Ladybug tip is excellent for removing splinters.

The LB is pretty nice but I bought the Manbug, instead. Love it. However, I carry a Vic classic SD on my key chain and drop the Manbug in my pocket.

I've had keys get in the hole and open up a Ladybug, so that ended that nonsense. Much as I'd prefer it was a Ladybug or Manbug, I tote a Victorinox Classic with a pen in it.

Me too. It can be a nasty little surprise to reach into a pocket and meet an opened knife blade lurking in there. Jazzz, do you think the Manbug would open as easily if keys got into its Spydie hole? I was hoping it might be a little bit more resistant to accidental pocket opening, but I tend to think it would be the same as the LB.

I'm sure it would be the same. Someone suggested making sure the keys don't have enough room to turn around and get in there by attatching the knife right on the key ring. It might work. I might try that.

Thanks for the answer. Yeah, I thought the Manbug might have the same issue. And I find that even with FRN Ladybugs right on my keychain, they still manage to get poked open sometimes. My mom keeps a small rubber band wrapped around the LB I gave her, so that it doesn't accidentally open in her purse. And I've tried the little kydex Ladybug sheaths like the one in my photos below, but both methods seem like inelegant solutions to a problem that shouldn't really exist for a knife that is supposed to be carried on a keychain. I love the Spyderhole, but on a keychain knife, it seems to do more harm than good.

i have too many keys for pocket carrying them. my keys ride on a carabiner on my belt loop. never had any issues this way.

Mine hangs on a small dangler inside my pocket.

About the only way I could see it opening is if I tagged the hole reaching deeper in the pocket or when I was putting my pen away. The truck key is now just a fob so it won't catch the hole (older versions that had a key never caught it though).

Did you try a smaller split ring? On my setup I can't force the keys into the hole.

At the moment, I have too many keys for a smaller split ring, but that's not a bad idea. I am trying to downsize my number of keys. So I guess the key is to be low-key!

I'm down to 2 keys. It's like a dream come true. I could make it one but then the workshop would be the same as the house key and I'm not sure if that's a good idea

When it comes to keys/rings I'm a minimalist. My reasoning for wanting a "keychain" knife is so that it's always on me if I have my keys. If I forgot my knife (rare but it has happened) or something like that.

I have two sets of keys: work and home. I refuse to carry extra keys if I don't have to so my work keys only get carried while at work.

I also carry them on a dangler so they are vertical. I may get the ladybug and dislike it on there. We shall see.
