Ode to the Ladybug - Sal is a genius.

Ladybug for sure, I'm starting to think its a moms must have. Seriously better than using teeth to open snacks n stuff!! Love mine !

I haven't put this on a key chain and plan to just pocket carry. I like the feel of the extra thickness of the G10....and I can find it quickly in the pocket. I also like the aesthetics of the G10. Just thought I'd share....

Ladybug is a very good choice. I carried it for a while until I found Jester.

Got it in yesterday. This thing is EPIC!

Ladybug Hawkbill Salt

My Mother, Father, and Sister all have a Ladybug of some sort on their keys (dad has a Manbug) :D

I thought about the "manbug" because I'm a man after all but I thought the ladybug may be less bulky on my keyring.

I won't lie. A larger knife would have been more efficient but it's good to know it's capable.

The difference in size and weight between the Ladybug and Manbug on a keychain is not really noticeable. What is noticeable is ease of deployment as I find it far easier to one-hand the Manbug.

I have large hands and have no issue with the ladybug. I wouldn't mind trying a manbug though.

Any of the Spyderco Dog Tags. Especially with a quick-change like used for multiple key rings. Same works good for neck lanyard, zipper-pull fob, etc.

Has anyone had a Manbug on a keychain open accidentally while in your pocket? I know keys can occasionally poke open a Ladybug. Is the Manbug harder to accidentally open, or about the same as the Ladybug? How about the G10/bolstered Manbug? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I'm thinking of trying a Manbug on the keychain to see how it compares to my trusty (and hard to poke open) SS Ladybug that currently rides with my keys.

Hey Chris, I'll check my ladybugs, manbugs, and my G10 Manbug, when I get home.
Now I'm interested to see.. lol..

The nicer thing, if it comes open, about the Manbug, is that it's not as pointy.. lol..

Thanks Troy! I'd love to know if there's a noticeable difference. And I know jazzz kind of answered my question earlier in this thread, regarding the regular Manbug, but I'm hoping the G-10 Manbug is stiffer to open, like the SS Ladybug. I've had a SS Ladybug on the keychain for years, and it has never once popped open in pocket. But my wife, my mom, and I have all been bitten by FRN Ladybugs at some point.

Ladybug may have been my best knife purchase ever. 🐞☺️

The Ladybug/Manbug models represent my true primary EDC. Everything else I carry is secondary.
Sized and priced right, these critters have latched themselved to the keychains of my entire family.
They are the only ones that ride in the pocket when visting sensitive areas such amusement parks.

Well, Chris.. outcome isn't looking good.. atleast, not with my G10 Manbug..
It's got to be the weakest detent, of any knife I have! And that's Lots! Lol..

My well broke in, LB, makes it look bad.. [emoji19]

Hopefully it's just mine, that's like that..

About the same. I have gone through nearly a dozen Ladybugs over the years and the strength of the detent varies. Even those in the image below differ with the Manbug Super Blue having the weakest detent and the Ladybug the strongest. But the weakest of all is a Ladybug VG-10/FRN I have attached to my work keys (not pictured).

Ha ha! Okay, thanks my friend! I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out. I think I'll stick with my SS Ladybug on the keychain for now...at least until Spyderco makes a SS Manbug. :)

Thread has been updated. Man I love this little blade!
