Oeser Knives...

Hello Jared. You do beautiful work. Very Nice. I aspire to make knives as nice as yours in the future. Keep up the creativity.

Here's another little beauty to show I can make a knife that is full out traditional. This one was not the easiest to make.

I sense understatement. Is that code for, "Sometimes bad words were spoken"...? :D

What a beauty. I join the others in especially admiring the angles and bevels at the end there.

Here's mine:

When I first browsed through and saw your pictures, my immediate thought was, "Oh, cool-- someone got exactly the knife he wanted."

Returning to this thread now, my sentiments stand. There's so much that sets this knife apart in its (seeming) simplicity, with clear forethought in choice and execution. Among other details, I'd missed the bolster when previously browsing on my tiny screen....

Well-done, Jared, and congrats Trev. :)

Jared, I like that "no nick" touch. Jerry Halfrich built me a lockback in the same fashion last year. He built it (per our conversation about the knife) the way he would have done for himself if it were going in his pocket.

Well done.

Thanks for the kind words on my awesome orange knife. The basic ideas were mine, the color, no nail nick and easy open notch. But, of course the excellent work is all Jared. It is even better in person. Fit and finish are perfect and it is slim and totally cool.

That is just awesome, Jared! Did you do that jigging by hand? It looks tremendous!

Not only is it deep and clean, but I see some 'peachsead' look in there!?

Thanks Kevin! I did not jig that bone but when I do (soon) I will aim for something like that. This is some bone from Cullpepper.

Either way, that's awesome! I have no doubt you will blow us away when you put together your own jigging style!

Well, dang. Pavlov just rang the bell (drool smiley goes here! :D). Nice one, Jared!!!!! Time to wipe off the keyboard again. ;)

Jeez! This thread is a killer... Oeser is definitely giving me good inspiration to finish grad school and get my money right ;)

I fear the worst has happened.

To the best of my knowledge I have never lost a knife I was carrying. Found some that I forgot I had put away in a strange/different place? Even years later? Yes. But never had one in my pocket only to find nothing when I go to use it.
Until now.

I discovered it missing right after I got home yesterday. I was wearing blue jeans so I doubt it slipped out of my pocket in the chair I was sitting in, but I checked the cushions anyway, nothing. There is no hole in the pocket, triple checked that. Checked the car, nothing.
Okay, don't panic I tell myself, you must have left it on your desk at work and it will be there in the AM. Not.

Now I can't concentrate on anything, I feel a little dizzy, and my stomach is cramping. I'm afraid it might be gone. :barf:

This feels terrible, I know! Don't worry, it'll be there tomorrow morning. I bet you will be there early :)
I've returned to the office more than once for this reason.
We'll keep our fingers crossed!

That's the problem, I am at work.

ACK! Keeping my fingers crossed, Stu.

Thanks guys. Went through the furniture at home again last night with no luck.
I am going to try not to think about it today. I'm thinking maybe it will turn up if I just sort of let it happen.
If that makes any sense.

Gosh, that's rough, Stu. Hope it turns up for you.

As to the super-traditional jigged Oeser a couple posts up with the beveled end bolster -- what would the name of that pattern be?

Keep us posted, Stu. If it doesn't turn up I'm sure there must be something I have here that I could send your way to make the pain less palpable.
