Of interest to Opinel fans

For you guys looking to customize an Opinel, I bought a multi-color handle ones from Smokey Mountain Knife Works for $6.99 # op1580. Picked up a few and one came in red, white and blue...so it's a keeper. The others had fun belt sanding and reshaping, screwed up the first Opinel but fixed the handle and blade for a super light EDC. Know I'm getting real serious with the last one. Searching the forum for new & good ideas. Later, Waldo

I don't know the Opinel company philosophy, nor their stance on recent events. I do know they make some great value knives. I think I know that about 20% of the French are superb folks who most Americans aren't fit to kiss their ass, at least that's my experience and perception. And vice versa. I lived in Europe for about 10 years and I've seen a bunch of ugly Americans. There has been very little culling since the industrial age in any society that I'm aware of. Hence, the average bear ain't so mighty. Also, we've had our share of idiotic leaders ourself. Remember Reagan?

I may place a bid, but I'm sure it's going to go a lot higher than 37 bucks. Maybe $57?

wha'd I say? $57 ? Final bid: $55.66 Ha! :p

Like Waldo, ("wjzgma"--welcome to BF!), I too bought a multicolor ("no choice") Opinel from SMKW--my first Opinel.

Cool knife. I'll get more later, and maybe try some mods.

Seems like Opinels would be perfect for gift-giving to "non-knife" folks, especially if you "customized" or "personalized" them first.

And that large one is so awesome! So's the set.
