Examples of express claims: Made in USA. "Our products are American-made." "USA."In identifying implied claims, the Commission focuses on the overall impression of the advertising, label, or promotional material. Depending on the context, U.S. symbols or geographic references (for example, U.S. flags, outlines of U.S. maps, or references to U.S. locations of headquarters or factories) may convey a claim of U.S. origin either by themselves, or in conjunction with other phrases or images.

So how does that clip of what is common knowledge prove your statement:

they can not say in the paper work with knives that they produce knives in the usa they can not even say they make knives in the usa at idaho!

How can you honestly tout anything you know nothing about, or are unwilling to read.

One thing I know is that I have right here a knife bearing the Buck Trademark that has "China" stamped on the blade.

If you don't understand that such a knife means there's a factory in China that makes Buck knives........

That's the factory I'd like to learn about......but Buck seems to be determined to keep it secret from the knife-buying public.

Your answer shows you can't back up your statement that Buck can't label knives made in Idaho as made in U.S.A.

Thus spawning your obfuscation.

Well done.

;)

I think you may have taken that the wrong way! What China portrays their conditions over there to be, aren't the way they truly are. The media in China can only broadcast and print what they are allowed to. This is a well known fact, and people know what they are seeing and reading is not quite what it is. That is what was meant with the referral to Mayberry. How is that crossing the line? What did you think I meant?

I always thought Barney Fife was real. That's all I was ribbing about. (Ran into one in Wyoming...a "Barney Fife"...shakey hand on the holstered weapon.)

BTW, I cannot post regarding China as I was sent a warning some time ago, was put in the penalty box, and had my post edited. Sirusly.
Guess ya know what side of the fence I'm on ;)

How about an answer from Buck?

It's obvious that we'll get nothing of substance otherwise.

Why not be open about China? The whole world does business with them, so why act like you want to cover it up?

It's ok.

Open information would be GOOD for business.

I do agree that there is a factory in China that produces knives and puts Buck's name on them. What I'm saying is that there is NOT a Buck factory in China.

Of course. And we can have our cake and eat it, too.

:D

You apparently are operating under the illusion that every factory in China is a sweat shop.

So you're saying that Buck is selling knives produced in a sweat shop?

I doubt that.

I've read the book about them. They are clearly not that type.

If the Buck factory were a sweat shop such as you suggest, Buck would not do business with them.....not the type of people to profit from the pain of others.

Now, did you want to eat that cake, or are you going to have it?
