So yesterday morning about 7:30 am or there about I walk out the gate at work and my car is gone and a bile of glass is in my parking spot. Hmm. So my car was ripped off. The place I was at has it all on camra. Matter of fact, the security guard even said he saw it get stolen. So I asked "well why didn't you stop them" to which he said he is not allowed. Damn. So the cops come and take a statement, watch the vedio and all comment that it was likely Hispanic gang bangers or thugs of some type. Not like it was a very nice car. Was a beat up 2000 impala. It didn't even have a radio in it. Meh, anyway, the cops said that it's highly unlikely anything will ever come of it. Kind of pissed me off,but what can you do right? At least they did not get my tools.

Yup! When my Acura got stolen they got all my tools....SMH finally bought a new set of Dewalt lipo drivers

Wow , great to see our tax dollars hard at work...
And WTF is that security guard there for ?
That's sucks bro , sorry to hear it , and even worse sorry you won't get justification

Don't know. I do know he makes $11.00 an hour so I don't blame him really.

That night was busy, so luckily I took all my stuff in. They got my smokes, some veer cans and I think a Bud K survival knife that had some sentimental value but thats about it. What I don't get is why? That car is a P. O. S. . Absolutely junk.

Well for starters --- our tax dollars could go towards helping officers find ways of tracing and retrieving stolen vehicles. How about we worry less about good citizens carrying knives, good citizens smoking a joint, and good citizens who want to legally carry their firearm -- that's just a start

Tracing stolen vehicles....like what? License plate readers? Don't make me get out my tinfoil hat.....

As far the rest. Bring that up with your local politicians.

They could use it to commit some other crime. A smash and grab type thing maybe.

Sorry to hear about your tough luck, especially since I'm not all that far from you.

Ya, lock it up and insure the heck out of it. Im just glad it wasn't my truck. FYI, the cop did say that auto theft is high in Houston.

Your POS is a Mercedes Benz to them. Sorry about the crap you had to deal with thumb...hope insurance takes care of ya man.

Been seeing alot of smash and grabs on the news. The perps seem to have a preference for pickups and vans. I guess they do a better job of dragging ATMs down the road.

Texas. 2000 impala.

It will get parted out.

It will get used in a crime.

It will end up in Mexico and be driven and repaired with stolen parts for 20 years or 400,000 miles.

It will get pimped out:

Take your pick. Any way you look at it the cops are right. You will likely not see it again.

I live in one of the top car theft capitols of the US. There are not enough resources to retrieve all the thousands of -$5k vehicles that get taken out of here, where you are, or most places nowadays.

They collect the info just in case they catch someone with it an can charge them with GTO or receiving stolen property.

Sorry for your loss. Yes loss. It is gone.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your car! I didn't know that security guards weren't allowed to do anything while the crime was happening. They aren't even allowed to call the police???

Hindsight is right; I worked with a guy who was car-jacked. When they told him to get out of the car he refused, and was shot in the leg for his stubborness. They pulled him out of the car and drove away.

Some secuirty companies around here are a joke. Our hospital, their guards call us for EVERY issue and alarm. A lot of local guards policy is to call the police, blows my mind.
