yeah, a dedicated tactical urine collection device would be really useful....

Eh, I wouldn't get that China crap bag from WalMart. I think Gerber is releasing the Bear Grylls shopping/survival bag this year. It's got a "survival orange" drawstring and can be used to collect your own urine in an emergency.

LOL, good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee atm..

Ok, I need some advice on what pouch/sack/whatever to transition my 'emergency' kit to.

Currently everything is loose in a grocery bag which I stuff in a drawstring bag that's annoying to get into. This isn't really as much of an emergency kit (although it is that) as a "stuff I'm finding I always need at some point when I'm out and about" kit. So of course we're out and about a lot and I'm always into the thing, which is really inconvenient with the current setup.

Dimensions are appx 12"x6"x6". There are lots of fiddly bits so [a] the dimensions are not hard-coded, and I'd like something I can easily get in and out of, and [c] something maybe with some interior organization. Rather than a round or square shape I'd rather have it elongated to more easily facilitate sliding into and out of a pack. Not looking for super-high-end-survive-2012-save-me-John-Cusack! bombroof quality, but also would like to avoid a five-dollar Target special.

If you're looking for something you can add to a pack - rather than a pack for the stuff, I'd look at one of the canvas tool bags at HF or mil surp stores.

Brl, I started picking up bags from a second hand store to find a style I liked. They're cheap which is nice. I found out that I liked back packs better than shoulder bags, but there is a huge man purse following here...

^ not a murse guy

HF is a great suggestion, I needed an excuse to check that place out. anyway.

forget cross-fit... axe-fit. running trails, chopping down deadfalls. oh yeah. pant pant.

Ended up buying a North Face "Bighorn" sleeping bag tonight. A little bigger than I wanted, but damn, I can fit in it. Flander Fountain had them on sale $20 cheaper than normal. They also had some clearance deals going on. Jet Boils 50% off, etc.

Warrior, that's great news! I've missed my jetboil since giving it to my ol lady. I have a $70 gift card, I'm calling them tomorrow.

Damn!!

Look what my 14 can do with its new scales!!

Here are the scales up close and personal!

They're black.

The screws are only in there until I receive the hex key that fit the hardware.

I think I'll have to make a 5-6in long version of the tac tool for myself. I have a set of Grivory handles left over, now to find some steel...
