Poor old man's finally going senile. He's toting a purse and probably muttering to himself about a blood splatter.

Glossy olive drab.

AIG doing some cooking, using a beautiful knife he recently acquired.

Practical is always good. Like Clich, I'm streamlining my kit a bit. Not looking to cut weight(Marines go heavy) just trying to lose unneeded gear. The possibles bag has always appealed to me, but everytime I don the one strap I just realize how much I like backpacks.

What types of flashlights does everybody use? I got a fenix from Ethan that's like a pocket edc on and I looked to see what its big brothers would cost and holy crap they are expensive. I don't really even think I need more than the one I got from E, so what kind lights do you pack and why? Do you really need a hyper blinding led that costs $200? I figure if I need some light it's there, I'm not out deer spotting or nothing with it.

I generally have a generic copy of the streamlight penlight and a Fenix LD10 or "Sam's club special" 165 lumen LED with me.

Mine is one coleman made briefly and small fart clearanced for 12 bucks about five years ago. I keep waiting for it to STB but it's a tank.

Those coleman lights are great. I think I scored mine for like $8 on clearence. Nice spare light to have.

My best light is a T.O.P. 6v xenon CR123 light I traded from Slapper. It's hardly a top of the line light, but as I was coming from the stock mini-maglight world it was the brightest thing I'd ever seen. It's got me interested in getting knowledgeable about the whole high-performance flashlight thing, sounds like there's some amazing stuff out now.

Also, big ups to the humble Photon. I bought one in my early BF and EDC days and tossed it in my everywhere bag, and I'll be damned if it hasn't come in handy about a thousand times. I need to buy thirty of those and scatter them everywhere (probably clipped to thirty KA-BAR Dozier folders).

Clich, if you're looking to bone up on lights make sure to check out candlepower forums.

Been wanting a scotch auger to make stools and stuff camping but never could find one. I picked up a 1" bit at a flea market for a buck and made one this morning. It works great too....and I can carry it in my new purse.

Gots me another addition to my lighter, smaller, leaner pack. A new double sided stone (medium and medium fine). Its replaces my old stone which was only fine and which was wider and longer. Saves a inch and a few ounces. Lots more to update later in the week. Think i may just save it all a resurrect that loadout thread.

2nd the photon! I had one of each; red, white, green and maybe even a blue. The red is the only one still with me, but I love them!

I have the photon permanently attached to the keys. Well, held on with a mcgizmo clip, but it is always there. Fantastic little flashlight when you need it.

I carry a fenix ld20, however I live in the woods and while its a decent beam I've found myself needing something much brighter.. I'm positive Bladite will shine some light on the subject :D
