I keep telling myself that I don't need a 1911. So, far it is working.:D

I am really considering getting a S&W Shield for a carry gun though.

A 1911 is like a BK9.........you can't not have one!!

I've considered a shield too, but I thibk I'm going to get a compact.

I don't have either.

I held one of those. It felt good, but if was going to get a double stack, it would be G26 for the compatability with my G17 mags.

Also thinking about picking up a coyote rifle...

So many guns, so little money.:D

When it comes to maturity I like to think that I act older than I am but since I'm only 16 that's not always the case, but I always try my best not to annoy people by the way I act cause god knows how much I hate it when people annoy me. Growing up I always hung out with my siblings and their friends who are 10 years older than me and like to think that it helped me mature a little faster but we will see :D

Ok, I totally didn't know you were a teen. Good job!

I picked up a Ruger LC9 for my wife to try as a carry gun, but it wasn't comfortable for her to shoot (a little snappy). Got her a S&W Shield 9 and she loves it. I haven't compared them closely to compare differences, but the Shield does seem to recoil less with the same ammo when compared to the Ruger. They are nearly identical in size, and both single stack, so either one conceals well. I think I've sold 3 or 4 Shields in .40S&W and one other one in 9mm, and everyone has really liked them in either caliber. Personally I don't want to add another caliber...9mm and 45 ACP are good enough for me.

1911's are not like all the other guns out there. They're more expensive to purchase, seem to be more sensitive, and working on them takes real skill. Pretty much anything else on the market parts are drop-in, a 1911 requires hand fitting of the parts and having a decent smith customize one can get very expensive very quickly.

I like to compare a 1911 to a classic car, if you're gonna get one be prepared to deal with the idiosyncrasies that come along with them. But they are very cool. Where as something like a glock is like a Toyota Camry. Dead nuts reliable, and boring.

I had an XD45 compact. It worked but it didn't do anything for me so I sold it. The reports I've heard of long term reliability have me thinking I'll stick with glock. But if yours works, keep it.

For CC I don't need or want anything smaller than a G26. I have a Ruger LCP .380 but I only have that as a BUG. I've carried a G17 regularly but the butt prints just a little so I'd like to get a G19.

progress... a couple A2 grinds tonight.

I looked around for months trying to find a 9 mil. CZ75B, or similar model over a year ago. I settled for the .45cal CZ97B. But that thing weighs a country ton, and it took a couple trips back to the Kansas warranty shop to square it away. Yes, I always admired 1911's since I shot one in basic, but this week I picked up a baby Glock (the 26). Maybe the next one will be the 19. Coming to my senses, I hope.

Looking good Daizee! What scales are you putting on them?

Oh, we're a long way from that yet... sanding, heat-treating, polishing, THEN scales. No idea. :)

some people call it a sling blade...

Those flavor crystals frighten me...

What's the new design Daizee? It looks almost like your take on a trailing point.

The lower is my standard paring knife. It's USUALLY technically a drop, but very gentle. This one may be a straight clip if we're splitting hairs. It's 3/32" stock. For some reason the last two came out a smidge longer than usual. The upper is a new blade variant. Same scale and handle as your 100% Mountain knife. This pattern has a working title, but I have to finish the first one!

It's nice here today. Cool and sunny. Billions of chores before heading out tomorrow for a little trip to see what they did to 'my' ship over the winter...
