Short people suck. They're always waiving their tiny little hands in the way trying to reach stuff.

Who needs Krinkles when you have Culver's?

Went to a Culver's a couple weeks ago in Colorado Springs, not bad. I had been talking to this gal online and she suggested we meet there in person. Had a nice meal and I never heard from her again. And she was really short too!

Finally some good news. I purchased a Springfield Armory Operator model 1911 a while back and had issues with extraction. I sent it back three times and each time I would shoot a few hundred rounds and then it would start having extraction problems. This time they finally just replaced it so I should have a new pistol shortly. I've never heard of anybody having as much trouble with a SA as I have but they always paid for shipping both ways. Hopefully the new one will be G2G.

Hoss, I still need to add a Springfield 1911 to my small collection. You rarely hear anything bad about them. Suck that you got a lemon, but props to them for forking over a new gun. I'm sure sending it back 3 times would suck, but I guess they at least wanted to try fixing it before giving you a new one. I've had to send a Kahr and a Sig back, but was lucky and they got them fixed on the first try.

Culvers does make a pretty good burger. I don't think I've had one for a few years, but I think I'll stop there the next time I'm out of town. They have some pretty decent soups too.

Their customer service is pretty good plus they have a custom shop to customize your pistol if you want. I'd like to have some things changed but I want to run it through the ringer first. I've read a few reports of defective SA's but they only took one trip back and were fine after so I'm convinced whatever was wrong with mine was a fluke. The problem wouldn't show up until 400-500 rounds so it kinda made it difficult for the guys to make sure they fixed it. I've heard good things about the Ruger 1911's and it's hard to beat a Colt unless you want to shell out some really big money and go for a Wilson Combat or Les Baer. Kimber is still a pretty popular brand but I'm not sure if they ever got their quality back up to where it was formerly.

I've had to send back two Rugers and I'm less impressed with them. They made me pay to ship the gun to them at a cost of almost $100 and the first one was found to be defective from the factory but they didn't reimburse me for shipping. The second is still at the factory and I'm waiting to hear what they say on it. it's a GP100 that I got used and when I shoot it I get particulate hitting my cheek, which is bad news. Local gunsmith said he through the cylinder stop notches weren't cut right from the factory so the gun is out of time. Funny thing is the gun was made in 1989 so whoever had it either just lived with it or didn't hardly shoot the thing.

That's just astounding to me. I can't imagine paying several hundred dollars for a gun and needing to send it back and forth (on my dime) to get it to work right. I'd be absolutely livid.

Maybe I should charge twice what I normally do for my knives and give folks a big run-around when I don't send 'em out sharp...

I've got a Sig 1911 and a Kimber 1911. I've had the Kimber for a few years and a few thousand rounds and it has ran flawlessly. The Sig was the one I sent back for work, but it wasn't anything major. They replaced the ejector and slide stop and it works fine now too. I've really been eyeing a Les Baer for my next 1911. I'm thinking that I want a Boss 45 or a Concept 5.

My dad has a sig 1911. I haven't shot it yet but he showed it to me and I really liked it. Aggressive checkering on the front and back straps and an undercut trigger guard. My Operator has decent checkering on the MSH but nothing on the front strap because it comes with Pachmyer wrap around grips. I didn't like the wrap around part and carfully cut it off and put some grip tape down the front for the time being. I just got some Magpul MOE grips and I really like those. When you hold them together they are more of a diamond shape rather than an oval like most grips. It reduces the grip circumference quite a bit while still working with standard grip screw bushings.

I was and I let them know. I've been very vocal about my distaste for several aspects of their company. For the most part they build good guns but the company is far from perfect.

Sig 1911's definitely offer a lot for what you pay compared to other 1911's. I think they are one of the better buys right now. Their slides and frames are all stainless on all the models too. Mine has the black nitron coating, but I've been thinking about having it stripped and a brushed finish put on it instead. The front strap checkering is done nicely and definitely adds some more control. For the price of them I really need to pick up a set of those magpul grips.

A few weeks ago I thought I had a line on a well used Colt for a really good price. I asked for better pictures, but when I got them, I realized it was a Colt slide on a Springfield frame. The guy said it was built by a smith, but he didn't know who or what parts were used beings he had traded a guy for it. I didn't want someone else's mess, so I passed on it.

I wouldn't mind trying some of that BladeSports stuff. My only stipulation is I would need to be sponsored by 710 and I will crush all competition using his "Destroyer".

Nice looking cleaver too!

I haven't had any real experience with Springfield but I like their xD line. I would love to get a 1911 but I gotta wait for a while. My dad is STAUNCHLY anti-gun so while I live in his house I'm firearm free.

I haven't been to a Culver's in many months :(
Last time I was at Culvers was with grandma a little over a year ago.

Looks like a good burger Gunyon.
It's no Kreckels though am I right?! :D

Nice looking cleaver too!
It's an awesome looking cleaver, not sure how good it would be too good for cutting meat which was the original use of a cleaver.

Jonny... How does that chisel ground chopper work out? I like the way it looks, and im not an expert but it seems like it might only be efficient chopping on the side of the grind. Do different angled cuts still work out with it? I dont have much experience with chisel ground large blades so im just curious.

It looks awesome. Id love to sink it into some wood and see how she acts. Especially making the first "scarf" cuts.

To be honest, I still don't know exactly how I feel about chisel grinds.
I had a Snody Boss awhile ago and just couldn't fall in love with it.
I've only chopped a few times with this Siegle, and while I can tell you it chops great, it definitely has a different "feel" while chopping. I really don't think I can do justice trying to explain the "feel". While it's not unpleasant at all, it's definitely different.
I think I'll try to post a video of some 2x4 chopping with it this weekend and maybe give my thoughts and feedback of how I feel the chisel grind preforms in chopping.
Stay tuned...

I've been more than impressed with my XD40. It shoots great for me. The ergos are amazing!
I purchased a Glock 23 last year. I love the way it carries, but I just can't shoot it as well as I do my XD.
I love that XD. I wouldn't sell it for $1000. Honest.

Sounds good!! I look forward to the video.

Yeah, those few vids you did really got me motivated to do a few more.
