That 3 quarter baton is crazy. I wonder if a Becker could do that. Anybody got a 17 to donate to the cause?

WW, must be an easier way to strip off the paint.:D

LMAO Im surprised how clean the coating came off. Thats one thing is some of the busse coatings are not that durable. Like jungle green looks great just doesnt hold up like becker coatings or the swamps black crinkle coatings all last longer for me.

But the edge looks untouched, clean, sharp, and pointy still. very nice!

Trust me I have been staring at my 17 debating this since last night... but i couldnt fix the tip if i messed it up... not very easily with just my strop anyway

Trust me. I'll fix it for you. Really I will. ;)
I normally dont publicly share something that compares a becker to a busse or swamp rat knife.... its almost like picking a favorite kid LMAO, I do compare them, the steels anyway, but only on my own, and for my own knowledge of the steels. But if i knew the tip would be fixed for me Id have no problem testing this quarter thing out. Not as a Busse did this, can Becker do it too... but just a test to see if it makes it through it and what kind of damage might be done doing it.

Every coating holds up just fine when the knife sits in a safe its whole life.:D

LMAO, yea ur right! I have been doing good lately about using all my blades, and i traded off some too pretty to use... now i just have one that i cant decide if it will be a user or sit pretty... but its not coated lol I just got it yesterday and a couple people already tried to buy it off me LMAO

knife steel is both harder and tougher than whatever quarters are made of. Should work just fine, especially with the fairly obtuse factory edge. Of course you'll be out $0.75 that you could have spent in a video arcade!

Why is it when I post from the other side of a satellite connection my post appears *instantly*, and from shore I get the slowness and the doubletap issue? I blame the internets!!!

I do have a couple on the way that will be displayed only.. one was made with the intention of being in a case its entire life... But I went through quite a bit to make sure that one was a one of a kind and would never be duplicated. I cant even post pics of one.

But i use to have around 20 display only knives... now ill be down to about 4 or 5. I do get a lot more pleasure using them, obviously, but its nice to have a few great lookers that always stay a great looker.

Good thing i dont play video games... But id be almost to a 2 liter of pepsi.... and that is a big deal LMAO

That's why you should always buy three. One to keep in the safe and the other one for using and a backup for it.

Man that little knife was $384 dollars.... I couldnt buy 2 much less 3, Hell I had to work a trade to get that one LMAO

Just finished going thru the quarters..... Im taking a few pictures now... No real damage :)

I tried all 3 quarter at once but it wasnt working out LMAO, but Dave Brown also did one quarter at a time if you read thru his thread and look at all the pictures, so 1 at a time and it was no problem!! I did have to hit the pommel with a hammer quite a few times... and im still a little tipsy from last night, i stopped at 6:30 this morning and was back up at 8, so i didnt sleep any of that off LMAO and you can see on 1 quarter i didnt line it up very well LOL, still it went thru all 3 on top of each other... and no damage is done, I forgot to snap a picture of the pommel... but there is a little coating gone from it and a flatt area from striking it over and over with a hammer LMAO, the tip just has the coating missing, no edge damage period that i can see.
