Daizee is an axe hoarder so is Col Defender and Tradewater
It occurs to me that I only own 3 'hawks, one felling axe and one splitting maul... nary a single hatchet

I will have to rectify that terrible problem as budget and opportunity allow.
On the other hand, thanks to my hoarding nature and my Dad and uncle leaving their tools to me when they passed on, I'm pretty well set for hammers and sledges.
So that helps me sleep at night
It really does sound painful as I re-read it.
'Sok, we knew what ya meant

Just don't try to pick up a rake by stepping on the tines and letting the handle smack you in the nose... don't ask me how I know this
One of the things I don't like is the balance and doing that to the handle would move the balance forward some. And then skeletonizing it.
Taper the tang. Changing handle material/shape typically does very little to change weight/balance. You might be surprised at the wonderful things a properly-tapered tang can do for balance and liveliness, especially on a big knife.
Nice Husky, Ray! I'm no expert but where I come from, Husqvarna axes and chainsaws are highly respected and known for quality... and that's coming from Norskis who generally turn their nose up at Swedish stuff
It aint about miles, it's about memories.
Off to the quote thread with you!
I think this is awesome, never seen one of them either... I guess it tells you your edge angle. sweet!!
I'm a total geek for stuff like that! Precision measuring tools are sweet as the peaches that come in a can. Remind me to snap a pic of the Spyderco edge-angle-measury-thingamabob I got from a friend.
