Offer Survive Knives on Auctions? Win Win for Guy and Everyone?

We can go round and round here and I would enjoy the debate. But, this is not what I come to BF for. I believe in the free market economy. Period. Whether it's knives or pharmaceuticals makes no difference to me.

I for one will continue to buy knives on the secondary market when I see something I want or need, especially Survive!Knives. They are phenomenal blades even at secondary market prices. Guy and Elllie are good, honest, hardworking people, with high ethical standards, and while I don't agree with their business model, that is just my opinion and none of my business. I have also made a few friends here and will continue to be around this forum.

Thanks for the comments. Enjoy your weekend.

I would never buy from a scalper/second-hand market. I much rather have a much longer waiting period and see my money go to those who deserve it (the company).

I think a lot of people^ could buy a whole lot of pre-orders or say for example the limited busse supplies and then making a killing from the re-sales. But out of principle they do not...that's the people i appreciate.

Sometimes people need to sell their second-hand knives for various reasons which is fine
But those that buy just so that they can make a large and greedy profit from them....screw those guys

I agree with this wholeheartedly...I am tired of seeing people buying up limited quantities or even buying a knife they know they never intend to use and then acting like their doing their secondary buyer a favor by letting them buy it for a 40% markup. I have several Survive! pre-orders out there as well. I also had several in his very first batch. I personally think it's lame to profit off of one another but that's just a personal belief and I know we all make our own decisions for our own reasons.

That being said, I believe in the free market and if someone wants to exploit it, then they have the right to do so. If memory serves me correctly Guy said last time he did a pre-order or "starter" that he wouldn't do it again. But I understand his reasoning for doing the "starters" with his move from the East coast and needing to get his shop up and running efficiently. I have no problem investing in Survive! by getting a price break on the front end of a knife or in my case Knives purchase in order for him to have the necessary capitol needed to get his shop setup the way he wants it. I have no complaints as far as the wait, but I am very excited to get some of the new spec blades in hand. Just my $.02...

The only S!K I've sold went to a good home, and the proceeds went to pre-ordering a GSO 3.5 and a sagewood dangler with leftover money to make a leather sheath. Everyone's happy. I always thought of the secondary market as the gateway drug for those still on the fence or lacking the budget, only to get hooked and go onto harder stuff like the new spec models :D

LOL! :friendly_wink: Since you put it that way maybe I'll throw a 10 up for sale and get in on that GSO20 pre-order?
