Official 2007 Traditional Forum Knife Pics Thread

As a follow up on my pervious post. I spoke with Jean at Canal Street. I have to send the knife back to the shop for them to "work on it".
I still can't believe they allowed this knife out of the shop without finishing it. I will say this, if it came finished clean, it would be a nice knife. Although I could live without the bolster etch.

Looks like a crack in the bone, or are they ivory?

Then maybe it was fortunate you got the botched knife. I bet they could send it back with smooth, non-etched bolsters. You'd have the only 2007 BF knife. Rare!! ;)

#027 delivered to the Republic of Tejas today. The ivory on this one was some sort of hideous purple color. After an hour of rubbing with some 80 grit sandpaper and a nice long soak in some industrial strength paint remover I was able to remove the all that purple.
A quick shot in the closed posture.

Mine came in yesterdays mail in great shape. Thanks to Eric and all who had a part in making this happen.

Thomason,

You have been reported to Spark and the Mod Squad Infraction Committee for cruelty and inhumane treatment of a purple knife.

You know, now that Judy mentioned it, I did notice that your knife is a lot whiter than the other knives posted. Mine is the color of Kerry Hampton's. I guess that paint remover lighted it up. Or maybe it was the sandpaper?

It is not that white. That is just bad photography.
My fingers are still stained purple from all that sanding though. ;)

Has anyone noticed that the mammoth scales have rather UNIQUE............smell?

Actually it's not that unique if you've ever been on a farm.

:D;)

Does this ever go away?

Received mine today. Nice knife, but I have mixed emotions & not sure if I'll keep it. Love the pattern & size of the knife, but the scales don't do much for me. The scroll I definitely do not like. But then I knew that when the 1st pic was posted a week ago. Will have to see if it grows on me, if not, it's up for grabs. No biggie.

I don't mind you asking, and if I could remember that far back, I'd tell you. :o We paid for them last May, and I have a hard time remembering last weekend.

Fortunately, I never clean out my e-mail receipts ;)
It looks like roughly $120 each with shipping, sales tax and a little bit for jackknife's piece.

"The total price for domestic shipping is $109.11 (includes $100.00 for the
knife, $1.81 for jacknife's share and $7.30 for insured shipping)."

Don't forget about the additional $8 we paid because of the NY tax collectors.

So, I guess the grand total would be $117.11 and a lot of hard work from ea42.

And well worth every penny too! I only have one other slipjoint in this price range but the CSC BF knife is far and away the better quality knife- both in terms of fit and finish and materials as well. I'm still loving mine and showing it off to everyone I know. They all already thought I was a little strange anyway. :)
