Official Ashokan dates & Challenge update

I'm very impressed. And here I was thinking of casting a ring out of grandad's tooth that's been sitting in my watch box. . . .

. . . . and then Rocco Siffredi steps up to the urinal next to me, waving about his cast bronze guard and pommel.

Put together now, needs finish work, have to put the pommel back on the lathe and clean up the mating surface a bit, then finish the whole handle

The weather should clear out by Friday afternoon. After that it should be a real nice weekend.

I'm going out to the shop now to wrap the handle.

It turned out stunning, but after Ashokan, I will have to disassemble it and make a small repair.

that's ok, after Ashokan, I will have to disassemble mine and make a whole new dagger

And it's finished. There's a lot of things I want a do-over on, but there's no time so here it is

I only saw 4 daggers there. Did I miss some? Page, thanks for the advice on the bottom guard. I brought it under 1/16" from the handle and it looks and feels much better, especially with the corners removed. Unfortunately, my wife refused to allow it to be on display at home unless I replace the handle.

I bet there will be more than 4 at next years. . . .

Mace

Zaph...nice looking dagger...wish I got the chance to see it.

Sorry, Mace. I thought there would be a gathering at the pavilion where all the daggers would have been shown. . . . There was only the Sunday show and I didn't have time to show either knife at it.
