If you didn't receive a PM from me in regards to the official beckerhead flickr account and would like the password and log in information either you don't get PM's or I forgot you. Shoot me a message and I'll hook you up!

Great pics Cap. Looks like a lot of fun. Who all were in attendence? (Its always cool to put names with faces)

I've got a few not as many as I wanted though. I was busy BS'n a lot and the photo ops came and went pretty fast. Also, my phone (my main camera) took a dump about mid-day on Saturday, so the tomahawk throw and shooting contest winners was not photo'd by me. Ethan and Kabar really shocked us with a delivery of “a bunch” of Beckers and Zombie edition Kabars to give out to the contest winner and attendees of BeckerWest 2013!! THANKS ETHAN AND KABAR!!!!!

My daughter Sarah fell asleep in her chair about 4 hours after arrival on Friday. The 2 and a half hour drive was brutal for her and she wasn’t feeling well to begin with. The chair she sitting in, with the canopy, was a hit among the group (the rain was present in the area throughout the day on Friday), so much so that Faler decided to break it Friday night, LOL (I’ll let you all guess how he broke it). Additionally, Sarah won the Sleeping Contest and was presented a BK13.

A King went down after its second use during the Chopping Contest. But, this is the King that won the contest!! Ethan pointed out the blade broke in a straight line, right in line with the vertical line in the “B” at the start of the stamp. Ethan also pointed out, this was the reason the Laser Etch is better for the Becker Blades. Ethan stepped up and as consolation gave the owner of the broken 9, Ethan’s personal BK9. That was truly awesome. Ethan is the man!! The Fallen King and the winners of the chopping contest. Each received Becker Blades of choice!

The winners of the Fire Making Contest. FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!

Ethan’s Chili over Polenta (Ok, we all know it’s really cheese grits, and Ethan made it known, they were CHESSE GRITS!!!) DAMN THAT WAS GOOD!!!

I got all Fanboy on Ethan on Saturday. Ethan sharpened my 14 for me, we discussed some imperfections in my 2 and talked and talked about climbing, the new huge Becker blade due out sometime in the future. He now thinks I’m a creeper (as Sarah would say). Incidentally, I ponied up a huge pot for the Chili and my Dutch oven for the Polenta.

The stuff I got from BeckerWest. Beckerhead patch and Kabar patch. A Beckerhead water bottle from Faler for the broken chair and I I won a BK5 in the shooting contest.

Great times were had by all and everyone walked away (some staggered away, LOL) with something cool. Faler did a great job organizing and thanks to the owner for letting us hang on his property for the weekend. There was a great class on plants by Mingo. Cap brought out some Benton Bacon, 550 cord and a huge piece of Leather for strops. Snakedoc handed out some cool lanyards he made up (those were great my man!!! Thanks). Lastly, Beardlove showed me what ro look for when collecting fatwood and how to collect it. Thanks BL. And, Bill showed up on Saturday with some of his steel (man those are really great pieces of work!!) l

Looks like a great time. I'm sad to have missed it (but grateful to have an awesome new job). There is always next fall, right? By then the BK10s should be out... Thanks for all the great photos for us who missed it. If anyone is interested and lives in the seattle area I may be planning a weekend hike/overnight in the southern olympic national park to see some huge old growth trees sometime in late may.

Man I wish I had made it! I actually shed a tear for the fallen King. Uncle E is a stand up guy for replacing it on the spot

I have no idea what a placenta, sorry ....er polenta is, but hope you enjoyed those cheese grits!

I'm still totally bummed that I had to miss this one. I was really looking forward to it and to seeing everyone. Ethan you'll have to come back again, and hopefully I can make it.

Looks like heaven,
Food, Fire, Knives and good company.
Wish I could have been there.
Thanks for the pics.

There's no way to express the gratitude I have for all of you. Thanks for sharing your skills and friendship with me. I am forever in your debt.
Respectfully, chance.
P.S. Though the momentum of life is ever increasing your good deeds will not be forgotten.

Hey Chance, I still have your pic. You want me to drop it in here?

First things first.
Thank you to FAL'ER for organizing this shindig and the property owners for letting us camp over the weekend.
Thank you to Ethan and Ka-bar for the HUGE box of swag and contest prizes. Very generous indeed.
I had an absolute blast this weekend!
Good folks, good food, and good times! There were a lot of laughs. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard!

I really enjoyed meeting some new folks.
Ethan Becker is one cool cat. A very genuine individual. I really enjoyed our conversations.
The chili he made Saturday night was fantastic!

Here's a few pics.

Fatwood foraging with FAL'ER:

Hanging out by the fire. L to R: Dr. Beardlove, Mantodea, Sarah, Cameron, Capt. Airyca, RRR, Awesome-0-4000, Abrasion, TDHurl, Snakedoc

Chopping competition:

Ferdinand with Ethan holding.

FAL'ER chopping with the Machax.

Dans Camillus BK9 snapped in two during the competition. Tears were shed, condolences were offered. Ethan replaced it on the spot with his own personal user.

Widerstand ran the fire competition. Contestants had to go gather their own tinder and could use one knife and one fire steel to burn a piece of bank line 16" off the ground.

Ferdinand won the "scariest story" contest and received a Machax.

Here is the amphitheater where the shooting competition was held.

Mingo offered her knowledge of wild edibles. (That's Widerstand with the gratuitous Becker shot)

There's a lot more to add here and I'll try to edit this post as I find time.
Thanks to everyone who made Beckerwest so awesome!
