So I took over 100 photo and if you want you can see them all here.
These are some highlights.
FAL'er showed everyone how to find fatwood, this was important for the fire making contest.
Me with my fancy drinking vest!
Some of the local wild edibles that Mingo collected.
Friday night Mingo cooked up some fish and made a sauce with the stuff she collected.
There was also a bit of drinking that night.
Some of the prizes!
Time for the chopping contest!
Then there was a breakage.
Mingo found a hawk that was just her size!
Watch out for these two guys!
After the chopping contest it was time for the fire contest which I ran this year, the contest was to see who could get a fire going and burn a string the quickest. All they got was a knife and a ferro rod, everything needed to be collected, not easy in the wet NW weather when everything has been soaked.
The winners!
I have a huge amount of respect for ferdinand for not giving up on the fire making contest and burning his string, not sure if it was his first fire from spark but I think he learned a few things and that's what these gatherings are really about.
Mingo got her copy of The Joy of Cooking signed!
Then there was some flying steel with both the hawk throwing and shooting contests.
Mingo found some little wild orchids.
I guess this a good time to say thanks for letting us use the lovely property!
Mingo did a short talk on how to ID a plants based on the family they are in and some good must have books!
Oh crap hes screwed now!
Passing around the Apple Pie Moonshine
Only at a gathering of where everyone is crazy about blades would someone show up with a box of titanium shavings to burn, which by the way they burn so hot its like watching someone weld.

I forgot a few things in my last post.
Ive been wanting to get Mingo a nice higher end fixed blade and at the gathering this graycloud knife was for sale and I just had to get it for her, she loves it.
I was also given two great gifts at the gathering.
The first was this great M.D. Cladwell which I fell in love with the first time I held it.
I also got this little tiny real axe that is just awesome! Now I can use my little axe to build a little fire on my work bench anytime I like.

That would be one of Bill Siegle's creations, I am sure he will chime in with just what it is.
They're designed that way right? If one should happen to break the chunk of blade seeks out and kills a unicorn. Unicorn meat it the only thing that can console someone who's lost a beloved becker.
After seeing how that BK9 broke right along the stamp I think I'd better buy another BK9 and BK2 so that they'll have the laser etch. Ya know, for safety reasons.
