I had one of these sets. Sam's Club had a deal on them when I was a kid, can't remember if I bought it with chore money or if I got my dad to buy it for me. I lost the black one and the sheath. When I was 11, I shot my first buck on Youth Day with my grandpa, we used the grey one to field dress it. This past Christmas I flew home for a week and the grey knife was the only pocket knife I left at their house, so I carried it all week. I really enjoyed it and it inspired me to buy a 112 Slim Select which I've been carrying as a secondary folder for loaning out/dirty jobs.

Dad (RIP) was a life-long Hunter and Sportsman. In all my years of watching him gut, skin, and quarter countless whitetail, I only saw him with one knife...his trusty Buck 110. If he was afield, that ol' black leather sheath was ALWAYS on his belt. I reckon he probably scored his first 110 at the PX, before getting out of the Army in '65. Knowing him, he was probably happy to show-off that he had the "latest & greatest" to his Buddies.

The "Internet" was non-existent in those days. So, "warranty" wasn't much use to him. He'd completely use one up, for about a decade, and then score him a fresh one.

Anyhoo, I just got off my "shift", so to speak, and am thinking about him. I lost him to prostate cancer almost 10 years ago. So, I'm drinkin' a little Jack and hanging-out with his second-to-last (*4-dot) 110...complete with chipped blade and infamous broken tip.

Here's to you Dad...I miss you, Father...
