I'm going to make some better sheaths in our saddle shop and was goggling images and came up with this. Not what I need but clever.

For backpacking, the Scandinavian Forest Axe is the larges I would bring. I like the design of the American Felling Axe more, but I would only get it if I needed a full size axe.

Ordered the felling axe and tracking says it will be here on Monday all the way from OOO-Tah.

Oh! and a new new Stihl 441 chainsaw for making firewood.

i should have watied, saved up and gotten the GB instead of fooling with the husqvarna!
that's a nice looking hatchet...
 
I have a number of axes and hatchets from Fiskars, Husqvarna, Council Tool and Wetterlings and have a local dealer that stocks Gransfors of all types. After looking at a bunch of them I have to say that they are really a cut above. Excellent quality control plus they have a 20-year warranty. Many folks here have no problem laying out $150 for a Fallkniven, so just consider these axes the equivalent and the price then seems more reasonable.

Doesn't matter what I buy I know when I get it it we be all jacked up and I'll have to fix it. I just expect it anymore.
 
A small amount of dinero spent compared to the Busse spread in the original photo.
 
mine came shaving sharp warman. I've never heard of one coming dull. I would check with your dealer.
 
I'd question that edge.
Maybe your dealer sent out a return by mistake?
I've bought 3 and all were scary sharp & beautifully edged.
