OFFICIAL NY Custom Knife Show thread: post all related questions/info here.

Brian, Thanks for the reply. Want to enjoy the show and not be a screw up at it. I'll probably bring a Lum Tanto and Tighe TighePhoon, neither of which I'll part with, but I have a Crawford that I like but seen something else of theirs like too (just cant afford fully) and maybe a Pollowski. Wierd, the thought of riding the subways with so may pounds of bladed steel on me! Will stop by and look forward to meeting a few others, thanks

Rick

Depending on model, condition & what you'd be looking for in return, neither the Crawford nor Polkowski should be too hard to get rid of. In fact, there is generally a mad rush to Polkowski's table when the doors open at noon on Friday. (Don't worry, folks. I won the race last year & won't be competing this time. :D)

What about the rest of you -- who is bringing what as trade fodder? I might be persuaded to part with a Perrin La Griffe Frequent Flier (G-10 construction) and possibly an Allen Blade Chipmonk.

Don't worry about riding the subways with so much steel. I'll have a Sandbar Bowie (good idea about the group pic, Rugger) & a modified 12" HI Sirupati for show & tell.

The grip is your Pronghorn is questionable in that picture??

Oh well...Ed's pretty tough, but I don't think he can chew through 52100.

You'll have to excuse me - I won't be my normal self. I'll probably require at least 3 hours or so on Friday just to salivate all over myself. Then I'll need another hour or so to rehydrate and regain my composure. Then I'll probably cry about how much money I've spent and I'll go have a few pops in the lobby bar. Then, and only then, will I be able to grab my Bladeforums name tag and start introducing myself to all my BFC buddies. :D

Can't wait to see you all there!

Barring any problems, I'll be there on Saturday, as early as possible [which probably means somtime in the afternoon :D]
Frank

I'll be there all day Friday, just look for a fat guy being followed by guys in white jackets carrying a net.

Hey, Brian. My recollection is that there are at least 3 bars in the "lobby".

Bring lots of tags. Either that or there will be lots of guys with knives "beered up" looking for each other.

Remember that there were some tables in an alcove, close to the show room. That'd be a good place to meet. About 8 of us got together in the analagous area at the March show.

Looking forward to this. :-) Alan

Can't wait til tomorrow. For the knives and to meet some of you Guy's. See you their!

IT'S TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!

Man, I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve!

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow! Unfortunately I will once again not be able to stay for more than 3 or 4 hours. I have get back home to take my son to a Cub Scouts meeting. Are you all gonna try and get together for dinner or do you want to shoot for lunch? If we go for lunch I might be able to go, if it's dinner, maybe next time:(

See ya' all tommorow.... I will be one of the taller guys there and will try to find the nametags- God Bless-paul...

I may not get there tomorrow, but Sat. will be a definite. Hopefully, some of you guys will be around then. Look forward to meeting you.

It's New York Custom Knife Show Time!

Time to hit the shower, get dressed, pack up some sharp shiney stuff (for Show & Tell) and head off to the show. I'll be there before the doors open and I know I'll see some familiar faces already there. I'm not buying so I'll hang back a bit and let the guys with money rush to their favorite makers tables in a feeding frenzy.

I've got some makers to see, but they'll be there all weekend and so will I. Even without cash I expect to come home with something. It's going to be a good day. :D

I'll report back later.
