Yea I got mine (Upgraded) as well this thing is a beast. Might be more than I would want to carry.

Hey Dan -- is there any word from the CNC guys about the Elite 3V blanks?

I know you can't do much about the delay on these when you are waiting for them to do their part -- but I just can't help being curious/anxious to get it mine in hand....or heck, to even see some teaser pics of the blanks! ;)

No word yet, guys.

I have emailed and called. I think they have me on ignore....:(

I'll send again today.

Dan

BushMaster sheaths are IN !!!!!!

If you've been waiting for one, your knife and sheath will go out in Monday's mail.

I'd send it today, but I'm buried in ice and snow!

Dan

Dan,
What is the status from you CNC supplier? You were getting the blades late December or early January. Both of your estimates are passed and it is almost February.

How is it that you closed your 2009 Bushcraft List in Feburary 2009 and have already delivered 227 knives to customers while the Bushmaster List closed in July 2008 and only 17 knives have been delivered?

Are the Bushmaster customers getting the same service as the Survivor customers that will take more than 2 years to get their knives?

Dan- just sent PayPal for a JRE-2 for my O1 Budget #12 NCM. Thanks!

Adill, read up a few posts above yours.
It sounds like Dan doesn't know when these will be in as the CNC guys havn't been in contact...

If anyone needs to back out, let me know. I'd love to get a Bushmaster, especially an elite, so, if you want your deposit back, let me know....I'll gladly take your place in line. Thanks.

UPDATE:

I have been in contact with the CNC company. They do not want to finish the work. I am going to pay for what has been done so far and have the blades shipped to me.

I need a week to put the money together and then the blades will be here and will be finished by hand.

Bummer dude. Reading between the lines there it sounds like someone is not honoring their word. What ever happened to a man standing by his word?

Better luck next time.

On the flip side, I'm looking forward to a hand finished Bushmaster. :D

The good news is that the blanks are in the exact same condition as the ones I already have for the Budget 3V list.

Meaning, I just need to do the tapering of the tang and some refinishing on the flats.

The "Elite" blades are indeed going to be very elite!!

The Budget 3V guys won't see any difference.

Dan

Dan,
I read this forum from time to time, I'm getting a little pissed that I'm getting blamed for the slow delivery of these knives. I have not ground the tapers as originally planned, however, I have a genuine concern about being paid for the work I have done. The balance of the work is finished, blades are boxed and ready to ship.

Please help me understand something here.

Did you and Dan agree that you would taper the tangs?
This is of course rhetorical because we already know the answer is "Yes." So, your issue now is that you are not doing it because you doubt Dan will pay you for that work?

I'm guessing that from your point of view, you must have reasons for your concern, but so far I would feel obligated to keep my word if I were in your shoes... After all, couldn’t Dan be withholding payment until the work is confirmed as "done" simply because he doubts that you will finish it? (Disclaimer: I know you haven't shared all the facts -- and so I am only reacting to what you have posted).

Why not fulfill what you agreed to and give Dan the chance to make good? If he doesn't, post it here, take him to court, etc.

Truthfully, and albeit selfishly, I hope you do ship them to Dan as I would rather have a hand-tapered tang (however, this is highly selfish as I know that this is not what Dan had in mind when he set the prices on these).

One way or the other, I hope this gets resolved soon…and whatever happens, it gets done off-line. I know I’m stirring the pot here a bit here with this post, but I really hope this thread doesn’t turn into to a finger-pointing contest.

I think this post is out of place and out of line:barf: As WS said, these details are best handled in private. As with any business arrangement, some sort of contract, terms/conditions, etc. should be established before any money changes hands and before any work is performed. I've been keeping up with this thread and unless I missed something, Dan has kept it extremely professional, never having explicitly named the "CNC house". This post has removed any doubt as to who the "CNC house" is though.

Before this post, I'd never heard of your business, nor noticed your presence here on BF. After your post I found your subforum and a post circa August of 2009 where Dan requested that the blanks either be finished or be returned. I can understand feeling upset that Dan is blaming the "CNC house", but missed deadlines result in 100+ people who are on the list getting pissed at Dan b/c their knife isn't done per the original timeline. Again, we don't know all the details (so we can only speculate) and hopefully all involved are professional enough to keep it that way.

Look around here on BF and you'll see that Dan is a stand up guy that always follows through. This isn't to say that he is perfect or that he doesn't have hiccups from time-to-time, but I have yet to hear of an instance where Dan didn't make good on something.

My preference is to handle these things privately. As mentioned, I have not aired my dirty laundry on this matter - so let's keep it that way. I would really hate to have to lock this thread over something that is already being handled privately.

The CNC guys already know that I am going to pay to have the blades shipped to me "as-is" so I can finish the tapered tangs here in the shop.

Dan

I'm way late to the show, but would love to take one of the Budget 3v's off of someone's hands (or place in line). Email is best.
