Official price raise Sept. 13

The inlayed and damascus models have been quite high lately. I’ve seen some large Sebenzas well into the $800 range for one of the three current inlays with one of the flavors of Damascus. But yes, they are quite high. I’m content with one dress model for special occasions and the plain Jane models for my day to day needs.
Interestingly, the damascus models are not currently offered on the website. Who knows where they end up?

So, the price of CRK’s on the shelf at dealers will reflect the new prices ???
In the past, the CRK’s that were on the shelf stayed the same price and new stock reflected the increase. This is no longer the way it’s being done?

Who knows. I do know of a couple of dealers with quite a few damascus models currently listed. I’m not sure if they are BF dealers so if you want to know, shoot me a PM.

I’m glad I bought most of my collection when I did. I make OK money, but am by no means rich, and would have never been able to justify to myself my CRK collection at today’s prices. Maybe a couple knives at most. I’m not really complaining, as it’s what it is, and I understand the factors. Im just glad I caught the CRK bug back 10 years ago. Now I have an embarrassment of riches with all these Sebenzas!!!

Moment of silence for damascus fans. I have a feeling it will be a long time before that becomes available again, and with its own price increase.

I literally bought a small pj 31 with double lugs and s45vn steel yesterday from TNK about an hour before the price change announcement. Just checked their site and they have the new prices on everything. Boy don't I feel lucky now! Lol. I also scored a small pj 31 Damascus with dual silver lugs about a month or so ago here for a great price. I'm feeling pretty dang fortunate right about now! I don't particularly disagree with the price increases but I don't quite get the wait times and stock shortage when they are proud to show off all the new equipment and space they have invested in. Something doesn't smell right on that topic imo.

I have been checked out for awhile- Some of you know the details and others may not.
Suffice to say, I quit a job that I had worked for 23'ish years and am full time in what used to be my side gig.
Rarely had time to come here- and still may not get here daily but my schedule of having basically 2 full time jobs has gotten alot of wiggle room. Yay!

That leads to a little insight- As a designer/machinist..I order material on a regular basis.
This is a direct correlation to what CRK is going through but on a macro scale in regards to my own business.
A year to a year and a half ago, one order of titanium I purchased was $3K
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Same order, but increased by 50% of Titanium from the same source was quoted at $9K

There are a few factors involved here.
Labor- My field and the area adjacent to CRK- we live in the same valley- has increased $ wise to retain or attract talent. Not sure of percentage, but it's quite alot.
Machine tools- CNC mills etc.. I am seeing increase in prices nearly every quarter and lead times to get something on the floor is around a year.
Materials- They have increased and continue to do so. Having friend that have machine shops in this area, have told me that their quote typically are only good for 2wks.
Prices change constantly depending on availability. Without getting into any political stuff, guess where most of the titanium comes from?
Some of the pricing may well be distributors taking advantage and hiking prices for short term gains..but that is and will continue to be a dynamic situation.

So, the reality is costs are going to go up on goods and services. It's unavoidable at this rate. CRK increasing the prices of their goods is expected..and I suspect that many seen the writing on the wall not that long ago and put in orders. Some probably had thoughts of quick flips on old pricing. The wait times are out there..there is no getting around that. The good news? Dealers will continue to get stock weekly.

To be honest, I'm a little miffed with the pricing as I'm currently Sebenza less (mine just got dropped off at CRK for service) and have been considering buying a replacement. But I'll probably end up buying another (or more) in spite of the price increase.

Funny I did the same thing. Small pj double lug from TNK . Glad I got my order in before the hike

I'm not happy about it either. It's only $50 extra for a plain version, but the prices for wood inlays are super premium. If you want wood and damascus, you'll end up near a grand. This will undoubtedly redirect demand toward the plain handled variety, which are already unobtainium.

It doesn’t surprise me and prices are going to keep going up. Rare earth metals are used in aviation, military, auto and tech industry’s and are in extremely high demand. When Chris Reeve starting using high grade titanium he was way ahead of his game in the the industry. With world demand, tech, auto electric vehicles and the governments military build up I see prices being driven up far more in the future. If I want something I buy today, and have never regretted paying to much other than a Casio calculator when they first came out.

True. I’m glad I have a Damascus mnandi now, and even then I felt I overpaid for mine. I can’t imagine what the dress mnandis will go for now.

Definitely glad I was able to get all the CRKs I wanted when I did. This kind of unobtanium is why I gave up on Hinderer and GEC.
Waiting up to 6 years for a knife is a long time and a lot can change.

For sure. At least you can specify what you want, wait it out, and eventually you'll get it (extreme circumstances aside). With Hinderer and GEC, batches of variations come at the drop of a hat so if there's something specific you want, good luck.
