Official Signup- Ethan's Fall Gathering 2012 - October 26, 27 & 28

I'm assuming the location of the gathering is at the same address we've been using to ship things to and from Ethan. If this is not true, perhaps someone will let me know.

I rigged an old sleeping bag into a makeshift underquilt last night. This will be my first cool weather hammock outing.

I'm going to attempt to arrive a little before dark. 12 hour drive, and I'll lose an hour entering Eastern time zone, so we'll see.

Sunday night (which I don't think anyone is around for) will be cool. To me, cool is below 40s, cold is below 30s - then again, I'm a New England boy.

Cool as in I just got a hammock in the middle of this summer's drought and haven't slept out in it in temperatures below 80. :D

That low for Sunday will actually be early Sunday morning/Saturday night.
 
I'm bringing a sleeping bag too, but I'll probably end up sleeping on top of it not in it.

I'm planning on leaving tomorrow morning, I think.

Psy you still got my number? Give me a call. I'd like to caravan with ya if I can. I'm bringing Angel (my car) just not exactly positive how to get there so I'd like to have someone to follow.
 
Hey guys,

Epic day.

We were packed and planning on leaving Thursday morning when I got a phone call from Christine while she was out walking one of the dogs. She wanted me to come pick them up as Zack had torn open his paw, was bleeding all over the sidewalk was unable to walk. Rushed there and she was not kidding. Most of his pad had been pried off. Seems that he must have hit something as he was kicking the turf with his rear leg. We wrapped him up, put him in the truck and rushed to the vet. Emergency surgery. He's still groggy from the sedation and is also on antibiotics. Vet says we need to keep him from fussing with the dressing and change the bandages every few days.

Unfortunately this means that travelling to gathering is not going to happen for us. Just to much to manage with his injury during the trip.

Can't say how disappointed we are with how things have turned out. We were really looking forward to seeing everyone again and we had a nice (and rather extensive) selection of Canuck local craft beers for Todd, C-Bear, psyop and everyone else.

Sometimes life gets in the way.

Awwww Mannnnn. This sucks! Its bad enough I'm not gonna be able to drink your beer! But you throw on top of that I'm not gonna be able to chew the fat around the campfire with you guys and enjoy your company, well that's just tragic. Was reeeeealy looking forward to hanging out with you guys. Really bummed your not gonna be there. Really hope the mongrel hound makes a full and speedy recovery. Gus. PM me your mailing address and after the gathering I'm gonna send a care package! Give my best to Christine and the furry lads. We'll miss you!
 
Hey Todd,

Yeah, sucks is the civilized way of describing it. I used a few phrases that were less appropriate for mixed-company.

We were very psyched to see you and everyone else again.

Now to start unpacking and figure out what were going to do with all these beers.

Sounds like something I would say. Sorry we won't get to see you and Christine. I was going to bring something extra special for you to shoot this time but I guess I'll just leave it in the safe until next year!
