Official SURVIVE! picture thread

Once, just once in my life, I would like to see a night sky with that many stars!

Visit Colorado! I have several hundred night photos on my Facebook page but don't want to go too much off topic. Here are two of them...

Lars, That looks like a blast! I too, am interested in your tent/stove setup. Would you mind telling us a little bit about it?

Thank you in advance.

Junkyard

The tent is a modified GoLite Shangri-La 5. You need to cut a hole in it and then add a stove jack (fireproof) to that area.

The stove is made out of titanium and folds together. I got mine from Ed T's Back Country but many other companies make those too.

Tent + Stove together weigh around 6 lbs and I have often taken the whole setup backpacking. It is great to have a nice warm place in the winter. Here is everything packed up...

Lars you have some of THE best photos of the night sky that I've ever seen

Thanks for the explanation in the stove. Sounds perfect for winter camping.

Lars like the extended exposure! It does make for some badass pics

Killer pic's!

Quick OT post... my youngest nephew, who I introduced to the outdoors and made sure he was addicted like me, just got back from a 4 day solo excursion in the Rockies (he's a member of the K9 MP's in the Army, so his free time is somewhat limited). He sent me a picture one evening of a sky just like that, and I told him the next time he goes out I'm going with him! I don't care what the flight costs, I'm in.
