Official W&SS Koster Neck Knife Order Thread

I am so anxious to get this knife. It does seem like a great edc knife. Oh well guess we are stuck waiting.

Hee Hee. Just got mine! At Blade. From the entire, huge, crazy show- that was the one knife I bought for myself. It's awesome.

I got the green canvas scales- it's very comfy in hand. This is about as close to a perfect EDC knife as you are going to get.

Good stuff!

Good for you "moonwilson"...........

It seems you had the right idea.... why bother with getting on a list and paying up front when you can go to Blade and get one before us who did. :D

My hat is off to you... you had the right idea.
And I say that in all seriousness my friend......... ;)

I bought the material I was missing to complete all W&SS orders.

I made all the Green Canvas Micarta ones on the list and didn't have time to box/ship them (about 16 shipments in all including skeletonized ones) ....so I brought a few extras to the show in case anyone showed up and wanted to take theirs home....or at least try it out at the show to see how it felt.

I was screwed either way, though, guys....had I shown up without them, those that showed up at Blade would have been disappointed they didn't get to see it in person first.

So, I made the decision I felt was best.

The good news is.....I am all packed up and heading home and the first bunch of W&SS neckers hit the mail on Monday.

Thanks for understanding, guys!

Sorry about that guys, there was no intent to "line jump" on my part. I haven't been following this thread and I had never seen or heard of the knife until I saw one at the show. I had no idea that I would be one of the very first to pick up a knife that's been so eagerly anticipated by so many folks.

I spent about five hours walking the floor at Blade on Friday, looking for knives that really stuck out as exceptional to me. I had a limited budget and was looking for something really special. After walking the entire show, and looking at and handling thousands, maybe tens of thousands of knives, it turns out that the one knife that ended up coming home with me was this little Koster. I picked up a wonderful little Blind Horse patch knife as well, but that's a gift for my soon to be brother in-law. I also scored a sheath for my ASH-1LE from Dave Brown for a song- but that was it.

My award for "Best of Blade 2009" goes to the W&SS '09 forum knife. The combination of size, shape, design, materials, craftsmanship and price was perfect for what I was looking for. This little thing is a marvel of understated, elegant, well-thought-out design. Once you guys get yours, you'll see what I mean. It's been said so many times that it's almost a cliche'- but this is a LOT of knife in a small package. It has the best thumb ramp on any knife I've ever handled- period.

I don't think anyone is going to be disappointed when they get their hands on this little beauty. Dan has upped his game in terms of fit & finish in the past year- his knives are getting downright slick. I would have bought one of everything he had on the table if I'd had the money. That monster nessmuk is a killer!

No apologies necessary moonwilson!

Your decision to grab a forum knife out of that selection says a lot about the blade! I'm even more jazzed about my own now, and I'm sure it will be here soon!

Now show us some pictures, you lucky git. :D

All the best,

- Mike
