Oh, De One!

I can't believe you guys didn't give BoxANT a spot in the tunnel.

Looks like an awesome mechanism. I'm kinda pissed that the cutout is in the G10; but I can work around that. I had thought that this one would be super easy, though.

dont think that because you have a little extra work gets you outta my OD scale-athon once i get my hands on some :D hehe

The scales are thin and tolerances are pretty tight. It cannot be off in the slightest from the look of it.

2brothers, I see you used two different torx bits to open up the knife. If you don't mind, what size are those drivers. T-9 and T-6?

So close.

Thanks for the answers guys.

I have one more that might be a little harder. Then again, for you guys, maybe not.
What is the thread size of the pivot screw? The male end? Is it 4-40 or 2-56 or ....?

Mike is the screw guy, ask him. :D :D

Got the mail for the first time since friday of last week earlier. I was pretty surprised needless to say. I guess I'm moving slowly.

The OD-1 sure doesn't move slow. These are really nice. The engineering on these is very elegant. There sure are some smart people working at the Kai/Kershaw plant IMHO.

I notice I have to watch how I hold it. If I ham hand it I slow it down a bit.

I do like this 14c steel too, if I haven't said it before. It does everything I need it to do, and does it better than most.

I recently had to reprofile a BG42 knife at RC62. Diamonds only on that job. With this Kershaw steel, there is no fighting to get a burr, or remove it. It sure gets sharp fast.

Thanks guys. Joe

I was kinda curious about all the cats in sig lines, then today I stumbled across this blog story:

and saw this:

Glad you like it, Joe:thumbup: Mine has been in my pocket now since Friday, and I'm really enjoying it.

For those of you asking, my source is expecting delivery of the main bulk of their shipment by Feb. 7th, add on another few days to that and they should be hitting the streets;) Don't quote me, or rip me a new one if I'm off by a bit, but that's how it's looking from where I'm standing.

2-56 on the screw threads. (I think! Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I know it isn't 4-40)

Thanks SPX. It sounds like a good, strong pivot.

And thanks for the info jonnymac.

If I don't have an OD-1 in my sweaty hands by the 10th, new ones will be ripped

;)

This is great, I am waiting for an OD-1 and have had no suggestion about the flipper until I´ve found this thread.

One question @ 2brothers and anyone else who has put his OD-1 into single parts: Will it work without the flipper as an two-handed knife? Or won´t it fit togehter without this part? I´m asking because here in Germany one-handed locking knives are not allowed to carry in public anymore and this knive without the flipper will be perfect with our new knife-laws.

Best regards from Germany!

The knife should work just fine with the flipper removed. Still has the detent to hold it closed and the lockbar to hold it open.

I believe you're right. The flipper mechanism is actually just added on top of the assembly. The scale actually holds it in.
By-Tor, I don't think you'll have any problems with removing it and still working.
